Default Root aphids....
Who has had them, and who has killed them, I want to know! I am battling an infestation and I am about to exterminate! I grow in Clay and coco, anyone out there have any experience with these little root eating bastards!

yep they get ya if your roots get to damp. you need liquid pyrethris, however the decomposing roots will lead to further rot. once they move in it gets bad fast.

i turn off pumps wait 10 minutes bathe the medium in a pyrethris mix i allow to stand one hour the resume the pump

you will end up with critters in your medium getting moldy but your plants have a shot at finishing

use nematodes, botaniguard, and liquid pyrethrum all together to sort them out. They are a serious pest and threat to your grow - to me looked like beetles more than aphids when i first came across them, but they are a hard coated aphid.

good luck mate

Thanks guys, I hit them with Nematodes alone, and I don't think they did well with the clay. I will try the combo pack like you suggested david, I hope I can get them the hell out of my room once and for all! Hey Abud, is there products out there that can help clean out the left over critters after I kill them? I was thinking cannazym might help..Any thoughts?

Thanks for the info David, when it is time, I will use a product like that...

Hard to say, since the spider mites are still around. Man these bugs are driving me to get mean! I only have a few spider mites, and are under control, but the combo of root aphids and fungus gnats need an a-bomb to kick the population down. I hit them hard on friday, and yesterday I left town, so I hope to see good results tonight...Wish me luck!

ilf you have trouble with fungus gnats use gnat off - sorted mine in a week.

Only thing is make sure you use double the recommended amount, i.e. use 2ml per litre instead of the recommended one ml per litre.

Why is that? does 1ml not work well?

I killed them....I just went in there and did it man..I had no other choice, it was either them or me, and I am a survivor..I am so dirty now, filthy with the death of potentially thousands of life's...But what was I supposed to do? Let them win, and eat my ladies? Now way! So pulled out my weapon of mass destruction, and emitted chemical warfare upon the enemy, killing them almost instantly. I would not say it was a fair fight, they did not have much of a chance of defending them selfs. But, I do live the the horror in my mind, the unrelenting torture of all the life's I took tonight......
