clones in the tub. Mommas in flower.

should i use a dome? like wrap over it? and i mean the clones, not the plants.

Hey guys, so i've had 4 girls under 12/12 for a couple weeks and i took some clones from them tonight as a little experiment.

questions:
In the machine i made, the stems are dipped IN the water, and the pods are floating.
ive heard that the stems should be suspended like an inch above the water? does it matter.

also, FWI i DID dip each in "roottech" rooting jell and i have a niceee circular airestone.

i see no need to put a dome over the clones. your setup should work. do you put any clonex or kickstart in your water?
Thanks for the reply.

I have not put clonex in as of YET, but i do plan on it.
I HAVE, however, i have added a drop of 'superthrive' and a couple drops of 'Humboldt Roots'

should i spray them when the leaves become dry?

pretty sure you're not supposed to spray anything on the clones while they're cloning(unless u are doing the humidity dome/cube rooting)

Water is fine, or very dilute SuperThrive. The cuttings will not get any water from the stem until it gets some roots going. So you need to spray them until they get roots. I do a few times a day.

Good Luck :bigjoint:

I spray clones 3 times a day for the first 5 days, with dome on and heat pad.(soil grow)

I doubt this info is any good to you and your method, i'm not even sure why i posted it.

If you are using a bubble cloner then you dont need a dome i hear, also, your stem should be just above the water and bubbles should be popping around your stem to get the full effect from a bubble cloner.

get a dome it make your life soo much easier.......... i dont even use rooting hormone and i have a 90% success rate with my clones. i guess it works the same as spraying through out the day.......

From my experience, you should always keep the leaves moist and in high humidity. Being there is no root system, the leaves are feeding the plant H20 until you are rooted.

I'm not sure how your system would vary from planting a clone in rockwool or a puck. Just my .02

thanks for all the info guys.

I've come to the conclusion that the stem should be help just abover water lever to avoid root rot. and as you all stated, keep a dome/spray leaves multiple times daily as there is no moisture going to the leaves.

thanks for all your help guys :)
