hmmm. there's someone on this site who can explain the difference between a 110v and 220v outlet. at the end of the day, it shouldn't save any money. he's still using the same amount of electricity.
My friend tells me he used 4 1000 Watt bulbs running off of 110V for growing. Average monthly elec. bill was $680.00.
Now he uses 4 1000 Watt bulbs running of off 220V and his bill decreased to about $400.00 a month.
Is 220V a better idea and will it really reduce my elec. bill

^ I second that notion.

It depends on what country you are in. Runing your lights on 220 will lower the amps...which will allow you to run more lights off the same circuit.
The lights are still going to use the same amount of amps! Some countries charge for electricity by the amps. But not here in North America. They know how to do it right. Charge people by the watt...so no matter what you do...they don't lose money.
So basically....if you friend lives in NA....he's either full of shit, or severely mathematically challenged.

Higher volts = lower amps = more lights per circuit
You still use the same amount of electricity.
