Alright, this is my second grow. After the first attempt, and a series of nightmares. I have everything down.
Keeping the lights fairly far away from the plants this time. Last time I had some burning, and stunting of growth. When it comes to the T5's I concluded that keeping a plant, withing inches of the lighting, will stunt the growth, i've had several plants, set at various heights. My biggest plant, the top bud was at a constant 4-6 inches away, I noticed the crispiness of the leaves, and the fact it looked "stressed". I bent my plant a bit, so the kola is about 1ft away, and all the rest of the bud ranging from 1-3ft from the fixture. Since I lifted up my fixture, the little plants started getting a darker green, and the biggest plant has gone from a "yellow tinted green" to a dark, healthy green. Resin production also went up alot since I moved it. In conclusion i must say that if you're going with the T5 High Output Floro's, keeping them about 1'-2' away from the fixture gave my plants, the most optimal, and healthy grow.

You need to get a fan on the tops of the plants so that there is no heat build up in the space between your plants and your lights.
Your buds are small because your light is to far away. The yellowy bleaching that you see and crispy leaves is because you have no fan to remove the heat away from the top of the leaf. I have my 400 watt hps nearer to my plants than you have your fluro tubes. Get a fan on them, move the light nearer, feed them some molasses or another carboload product and you'll see some bigger better buds

Having a t5 tube 3 feet away from the bud sites is not good.
If you have fans on them are you sure that its heat burn and not chlorine burn from you water? Do you use tap water and had you just fed them recently when you first noticed the yellow tinted green and crispyness of the leaves? Anyway this could also be the cause of the crispy yellowy leaves if you have fans already. Always leave tap water for at least 24-48 hours with the lid of so it can evaporate the chlorine.

1 foot sounds a lot better
It may well be that you just had a lil bit of nute or hard water burn or both. I keep my 400 watt 12" from the tops

yea i agree, i currently have 2 plants that have been going for a month under 6 24" flourescent tubes, there a constant 2-3 inches away at all times with a fan constantly blowing, they are the fastest growing plants i have had, no probs yet
