Can I use a 400 watt 20000K Metal Halide Aquarium Mogul SE Bulb for vegging? and if so is it a real good choice or could do better choice?

im no expert, in fact im in my first grow, but i used a 175w MH and it's growing alright right now.

2000k would be fine

I do know that as low as 6,500 would work and what I am talking about is a 20000k aquarium bulb...wondering since it emits such a blue light is it good for vegging?

oo yeah the Aquarium bulbs are the same as the really nice grow bulbs no diffence in price unfortanly but it should work just fine buddy

im actually using an aquarium 175 watt MH light ballis and it has two 55 watt actinic blue florencence lights attached as well. i ended up having the one female plant pictured above and it made some very decent buds. it was only about 2 feet tall and i got just under and ounce 26g's. im on my second grow now and i have three female plants growing in their first three weeks of veg. and the only thing that i added was a couple of 20 watt t5 florencence lights and they are way more bushy. they are about 5 inches tall and already have 6 nodes on them just topped. so for personal use i would say the lights you are using are just fine.
