Dutch Passion Twilight Grow

Ok everyone, some of you may remember me from a few months back, I grew 3 dutch passion white widows. I had a respectable harvest from those 3 plants, and I learned a lot about what not to do.

This time around, I am growing dutch passion's "Twilight" strain.

There are several reasons I chose this strain. First, it's 100% indica, which I love. I am a HUGE fan of indicas. I love coming home from work and just getting glued to the couch for a while. The second reason being the bag appeal of any kind of purple strain. And the third reason is marketing. With those fucking vampire movies running rampant, this shit is sure to move quickly. And the last reason is breeding my own cross. I have some pollen from an extremely strong DJ Short Blueberry male, and I intend to pollinate a couple lower branches of the twilights to get some seeds, then I will grow them out, select the strongest female, let her grow, then force her to hermie, collect those pollen sacks, and back-cross it with the super strong twilight momma and hopefully have some blueberry flavored twilight. We'll see though, that is some time down the road.

So I germinated my seeds and in less than 24 hours all seeds have popped open and have the little white tails poking out. I put them into rockwool cubes and put them into a seedling tray with a heating mat underneath and a dome on top. In a couple days they should be poking out. Then FUN TIME!

I use pure reverse osmosis water in a 40 gallon reservoir underneath the 3'x3' table. a 396 gph pump floods the table at lights on at 830 am and again at 330 pm. I am using the fox farm line of nutrients with a small amount of CalMag. the water is kept at a ph of 5-5.5 and I believe the ppm is currently at or around 550-575ppm The lighting is a 600w metal halide conversion bulb running off of a lumatek 600w ballast. My ballast is kinda on the fritz right now and wont fire the hps bulb. Ill be getting a new ballast soon and switching back to my 600w sunmaster hps.

Yeah, I gave some clones to a friend of mine who uses bubbleponics, I havent asked him how they are lately. Twilight is a bit of a slow grower, but man, once you flip to 12/12 they go nuts! Ill try to get some new pics on sometime soon.

What a shame he hasn't come back, I'm pretty sure this strain is up next for me and I'd love to know how this finished... slow indoors huu? Is there a need to veg a little longer to counteract that? peace
