Currently i have 8 in a box, alternating between 4 5700 and 4 2700 ... there setup so whether i spin the plants or not there getting both spectrums on each side ... Would i be better off now in flowering to go with all 8 2700 or is having both spectrums more usefull to the plants ...

do you have a hps ???? you wanna go towards the orange red spec when flowering......if not just 12/12 on your cfl's, pitch dark at "night". I hear straight cfl gives you the "fluffy" bud. Got my 1st 2 lights, mh and hps both 400w for $100 on "Craigs List". Check around and you can get grow lights fairly cheap. Also you may wanna go to a garden store, tell em your growing tomatoes and see if they have a good spectrum flouro for "fruiting". Hope that helps. Good luck and get a 400w mh and hps when you can.

heh, no man its a tupperware grow in 2 36 gallon tubs ... the 2700 bulbs are the red spectrum needed ... there just mixed with 5700 equally with are for veg ... anything other than cfl's would be too hot for my current location ... simply curious if now in flowering if the spectrum of light required during vegetation is still needed "the 5700s" or if i could replace them with more 2700 "red" spectrum bulbs ... i know they still grow quite abit in flowering, which is why there currently equal on the range of light ... otherwise there doing good ... but again, would they do better in an all 12/12 red spectrum of light.

Fluorescent lights come in many different Kelvin ratings; often the spectrums are labeled on packaging as being 'cool white' or 'warm white.' Cool white is more blue, and is good for the vegetative stages of growth, and warm white light is more orange or reddish, and is best for the flowering stage.
Above post is a cut out of the link ... 2700 CFL are best for flowering, i understand that ... correct me if i'm wrong the plant continues to grow in flower, so wouldn't that continue as growth needed by the spectrums of the 5700 cfl's ... so using the mix is good, if i'm wrong i wanna know so i can replace all the veg cfl's with more flowering ones ... "starting to think i'm asking a silly question" ... lmao |

i was also asking that question about the t5's and they told me as far as they know full spetrum is the best.I also had a message from a guy who was grow about 8 plants using t5's and he said use them mixed half and half.I saw hes plants and they looked very nice with pretty buds on them so i would go mixed.
