last for 4 weeks hey.... don't think so!
They last for about a year of constant use at 12/12, if the air is very moist then not as long, you can wash and dry them and will work again... probably 3 times or so before they don't work well anymore. You can potentially get 2 to 3 years out of one.

Mine worked great the first few weeks and slowly started to taper off. I understand that part of this problem was my own. If I could do it again and I will, I would suggest you build something.

If you are going to buy this product be sure to read the CFM rating of the filter. Compare the CFM of the filter to your fans, I would not exceed 75% of the recomended CFM on the filter. If you need a 6" filter do not just buy the first one you see or the cheapest one. Get the one with the highest CFM rating.

The moment you get close to the CFM rating of the filter stinky air will begin to pass through and out your exhaust. Did any of that make sense ?

I will be using this filter in my cats litter area under the stairs..

The harder you run the fans through the filter the more stinky air that flows through and the shorter your filters life cycle will be.

There are several DIY jobs I have seen online that are doable with even the most basic tools. Surely you have methods at your disposable to increase the odds of getting help from your husband in this project.

The beauty is you can custom fit the thing to your space. I am doing a small on the back of the fan that circulates the air around the room. Plus a large one on the exaust out of the room.
