OK if Dark period temperatures are higher than light period temps?

OK so I have the lights on during the night hours so that I don't fry my plants. My median overall temp USED to be 80 degrees- 76 low and 83 high.

I decided to buy a stand alone A/C unit for the closet to bring the temps down to finish out a crop.

Now the temps can get as low as 68 degrees in there during the light period. However, the dark period is during the daytime, so it hovers around 80 degrees.

Is this OK?

Do the plants trip out?

I read in an Ed Rosenthal book that optimum temps during the light period are between 70-80 and for the dark period 60-70.

Mine is backwards.

I know the obvious solution is to switch the cycle, but I can't, there are too many drawbacks in my situation for that.

Has anyone else done this?

Id say as long as the ladies have enough water and dont dry out i dont see why it should be an issue IF IF IF it stays below 77...my nighht temps r 60ish cuz i run my lights at night...be cautious about humidity....

If you want the best results you want ~10 degree colder nights...different things in the plant happen at different temperatures and light periods. I doubt it will kill the plant or anything that drastic...but I do expect it will lower potential yield...if grams per watt is a big thing to you, you will want to lower the temps at dark period..if you just want personal see how it goes the way it is...
