Hey guys and gals,
I have been having a problem with one of my girls. First early on her ph was low now it is 7.4. I just can't get it right. I had a yellowing and necrosis problem that looked like either a mg or k problem and before going nuts I tested the ph of course this was with nuted water runoff. I ph everything that goes in and I am always fighting ph for some damn reason. I even calibrate my meter every time I water. Anyhoo, when it was low I just flushed with my high ph tap water until I was at the desired level of 6.8 and then fed once everything was balanced. Well now I am going to be starting the 6th week of flowering tomorrow and need to get this under control I plan on going around ten weeks so I have about five weeks left. I want to adjust the ph safely. I was thinking of just flushing her with 6.8 ph'd water until I am in range. Is that a good plan or is there a better way. I don't think a flush would be too out of order at this point anyways. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey AKRA...
YOUr plan sounds good.. my only concern is over watering.. so don't do the flush until the plant needs water.... you can even add nute to your "flush" but make sure you set the pH of the water after tyou add the nutrients.. but you probably already knew that cheers picture? |

Hey thanks for the reply gnome. I figured you would chime in. I unfortunately did not check the runoff when I watered and had a really busy day and there was some runoff that was under the pot. This one seemed to take almost 2 weeks to dry out this last time. Probably do to the ph and lockout of something due to it. I was also worried about overwatering. This is probably gonna get much worse by the time I flush. My fault though. The only thing I added that was not ph'd was garden safe spray for the damn gnats. I don't want to speak too soon but I think I finally got em all. I think they are doing ok seeing how they had to put up with bugs their whole life. Here are some pics. The one on the left is the bad one. It has always been thicker and shorter. The other is over four feet now. The shorter is really about a foot shorter. There is one close up of the tall main cola. The other closeups are of the one in question.Sorry for the quality. Cell phone cam.

Akra... looks good..
also looks like yo have a nutrient burn.. have you been overfeeding? the exhaust in the window looks COOL...is that a passive intake? if so, I would recommend putting a screen over the opening and some yellow sticky paper near the opening or IN the opening to catch BUGS thanks for the pictures... |

I really don't believe it is nute burn since the leaves yellowed over a period of about a week and then started to burn but I could be wrong. I have been giving them the same dose for awhile and it has not affected the other plant. It might be a case of overnute from a lockout of others though. Either way a flush will help. I very carefully aerated the soil last night to see if it would dry out a little faster. I use the lift the pot method for watering to see when I am close and then my moisture meter in many different spots in the pot to see if it really needs it. I find this meter with the flexible wand works really well. I have tested it in another pot of just soil and I think as long as you take multiple tests it works quite accurately. Which brings me to my next question. The other plant is bigger and more healthy at this point and seems to be on the same watering schedule as it always has been or close. The other one seems to have really slowed on water uptake. Two days after water it is maxing out my meter. I am worried about a nute lock making it not uptake water as some nutes will affect. Seeing as how it still seems waterlogged would flushing it now really hurt. I feel like if it is wet then me making it wet and flushing out the junk and getting her on the road to recovery would be the better option. What ya think?
