Default Which Kelvins to use?
Hey guys. I've tried searching the threads for an answer to this question and can't find anything solid. I am using CFL's for propagation and cloning. I currently use 6500 Kelvin CFL's. This is the "Daylight" cfl real close to the blue spectrum. Now, Which is the best Kelvin color range to work with? Does it really even matter? As I said before, I will be using for seedling propagation, cloning, and maintaining mother plants...

the daylight is best for flowering but will suffice for veg. The red spectrum, from waht ive heard, is best for vegging. Im having trouble with clonging myself, i used the daylights with no success, so now onto the warm white

So, what do you think of using 8, 26W (100 Watt equivalent) Daylights (6500K) and 8, 26W CFL's in the red 2700 K. They will be alternated on two vanity light strips. You think that will work for all my purposes?

i got my info confused (lysdexia). Daylights for veg(6500K blue spec.) and the warms for veg(red spec. 2700K). The GrowFAQ has a good fluoresent breakdown on cfl's. Click on the GrowFAQ then look for lighting, (#6). Its the first little blue circle, basic fluoro. info., bout half way down the page. Read the whole page, good info

So buckthesystem, i see you're taking my advice with 16 cfl's. Dude, your plants are going to fucking rock...so thats good for me to *wink wink*. Also, a better question is would it be better to run 8 blue and 8 red the whole time or 16 blue through veg then 16 red when you flower? I kinda think it would be better to run 8 blue/8 red. And on those Y adapter just put 1 red, 1 blue. That way it will alternate all the way down....i think you said this already but oh well. I swear dude, when you get 16 lights going you're going to shit yourself!! Good luck and give me a shout when you get on tonight.

Okay. I have 8, 26W CFL's with 2700Kelvins and 8, 26W CFL's with 6500Kelvins. Will this be good or should I have just gone with all 6500Kelvins? I'll be using for mothers, clones, rooting.
