a proper filter will work, ozone gen for backup
A carbon filter will only get rid of 100% smell when you have adequate ventillation, negative air pressure at all times and the correct size filter for your ventillation system. Also some cheaper carbon filters are not good enough to work as they should so buy a good one to be safe.
My plants have not been flowered yet, but I have a 100% smell proof grow so far. That is atleast until the tents are opened and then it stinks. The smell lingers for a while after the tents are closed up again, so you may want some additional backup like ona gel to get rid of the residual smells quicker.

You should move your air 1x per 5 min, not 5 times per 1 min! 500 cfm would be suited for a room of 2000+ cubic feet, assuming it is installed properly. I have test many fans, and the majority of the time the cfm is inaccuate(and this may be the your issue). A 100 cubic foot room (@ size of a large fridge) can be vented with a small squirrel fan or even computer fans. if the carbon filter is installed corrected in your exhaust it will remove the majority of smell, and you must also anticipate about 5% resistance to your exhaust system. @trichlone fiend I can assure you haven't installed a 500cfm in a 100^3ft room, as it would be too powerful and literally suck your plants out of the pots! In a larger room, if your lighting exhaust connects to your room exhaust, a 500cfm would be feasible for a 1000 cubic foot room. Ventilation is very important, always make sure you have at least 1 room exhaust fan, if professional lighting, a fan for that, and fans for circulating air. If you do not use CO2 make sure you have an opening or another fan to bring fresh air inside. Exhaust is for temp control and CO2. Please review information, as this will confuse beginner gardeners and hurt/destroy their garden.
I need to know the very best kind of filter to buy for 100% removal of grow smell in a single plant closet grow. I'm using grow light, hydro pot, maybe a TENT, if it will reduce odour. I've heard that lemonseedgrass oil works well for lingering odor. Not lemonseed oil, but lemonseedgrass oil, a little in a bucket of water, under a fan rids smell very well, but I still need to know the best filter and size to get, for a single plant closet grow. I am trying to stay unnoticed, even by other members of the household. So, I really need a magic trick here guys. Someone please gimme some real good tips, from their own experience please. No, I heard someone say crap, I need 100% facts from personal experience. Thanks fellow naturists.
Hello,
I'm using a 91lb carbon filter with a 8" inline (750cfm) fan in a 11x11 room and it works great however it is not 100%. It is used as a scrubber not exhaust. Some smell still leaks out not much though, barely noticeable. Not a sealed room either.

Use a decent filter plus ona gel in the room.
