Default Reusing soil?

I have a lot of soil and don't really feel like getting rid of all of it and buying all new soil. Is there a way to chop down one crop and then use the same soil for the next crop? Can you clean the soil or something?

Generally, you don't want to reuse soil. There's too many things living in there that could kill your plants. BUT, you can regenerate the soil by heating it. You'd have to heat it to about 220f, depends on how much, how wet, to say for how long. I'd cook it til it was completely dry. That should kill everything.

I knew a guy who used to reuse his soil in his greenhouse by doing this...cooking his dirt in a pot over an open fire. He never brought soil in and never took any out.

Someone told me that you can pour lots of boiling hot water through the soil while it is still in the pot/container. Does this really work?

U can reuse the soil like brnpiper said by cooking the soil in the hoven at 240º temp for about 20min but ONLY if u are 100% organic, if u used any chem nutes on the soil..........dump it and get new soil...good soil aint expensive imo and is well worth the $$$ u pay since u dont have the hard work of cooking last grows soil to use it...or u can go Hydro loll

Considering how cheap a bag of new soil is and how much it would cost to heat used soil it seems to be a no brainer. Much easier to just buy new soil for each crop.

Of course, if you wanted stealth, it'd be much better to bring in bags of soil once and not over and over. No need to draw unwanted attention.

People do use potting soil for legit purposes.

Even people in apartments have balconeys with plants. I lived on the 3rd floor but my balcony was like a jungle. Bromeliads.
