Room Size For 1000 watt but Have a 400..Any Help!

Not able to purchase a 1000 watt set-up for another 2 weeks and have built a room 8 by 8 by 9 foot tall..
I have 13 plants in veg pushing 18 inches tall and would like to start cloning and` sexing them..say 4 or 5 at a time and was wandering if I should run a wall down the middle of the room to contain the light say in a 4 by 4 quadrant etc., or do you think I should just let it be and roll with it until I get the right lighting to cover..

They are 18" tall and not showing sex? How old are they? IMHO you should just wait because you will most likley need all of that room for flowering.

Nah, 8x8 isn't too big, I think I would just roll with it until you get your other light.

The plants are in veg, what does the height have to do with showing sex? Do some more reading, growing before you post advice. Not being a jerk, I'm just saying there is already enough bad info out there as it is.

Anyway, without pics it's hard to say what to do. If I had to wait two weeks, I'd make good use of it. Top them off and do some LST. if you have 9 feet of hieght in the new room 18" aint shit. Yoy can veg out to 24-27 inches with most strains, do a top 5 days before flower, and still stay under 5 feet easy. That is MOST strains. A haze or some sativa might not conform to this.

EDIT- also i used to use a pair of 600s for the first week or two of flower and then switch to my 1000s. If you knew when you were getting your 1k it wouldnt be a big deal to just start the 12/12 with your 400 + any veg lights you have. I've done that too, lol. I had a girlfriend steal almost all my lights and gear one time. I took 160 watts of flouros, a 400 MH, and a 150 HPS and flowered my mommas anyway! The first week nothing really happens anyway, not until the big stretch starts, and you'll be that much closer to knowing which are the girls!
