BlackJack Grow 1st time grower

Hey folks,hope a few experienced blackjack growers will stop by for some guidance and comparison and suggestions to my grow.
Here are the facts.
Indoor tent grow- 5'highx4'longx2'deep
Ocean forest soil in 2 gallon pots
5 femed blackjacks from nirvana
400w mh/hps light 18/6 on then 12/12
50w florescent side lighting
170cfm exhaust fan with carbon filter
80cfm intake fan from a window to the tent
small clip on fan for blowing on the light
tower fan for blowing on the plants
humidifier to help raise the RH to 30-35% with 10-20% without
Day time temps run from 78-86
Using fox farm trio for nutes with big bud
Using 2 air purifiers in the house
using 1 ozone generator in the room the tent is in
using ona gel at the front door
this is my first grow ever

Ok no problems what so ever for me so far,no real nute burn,no bugs,no watering problems,plants all look great at day 27.
There is some twisting of new top growth on the biggest plant.This could be a deficiency in boron or mg,not sure which.It's only on 1 plant.So I'm new to this and i tried topping the plants at about 14 days from sprout.Not sure if I did it correct or not,but it seems I got better results on some then I did on others.Some I have 2 v shaped colas,others I have 4.So I must of done it differently on some then others to get different results.Wish i knew how I got the 4,lol.Started pulling some of the fan leaves off the bottom of the plant that had some yellowing and were blocking other main branches/bud sights from forming.I spray them about 3 times a day with nute water to make them look sexy,so far no problems with that.After topping them they really seemed to slow down in top growth.At day 25 they were 4 or 5" tall.I recently ordered a ph meter and waiting on that to get here.I rotate the pots every day so 3 out of the 5 get the side lighting right up agaisnt them.I put a banana and a cut up apple in a brown paper bag and put it in the tent.I heard rotting fruit gives of co2.My biggest concerns with this grow so far is are they much smaller then they should be.Pics are day 27 from sprout.

today is day 31 from sprout.I tried topping again to see if i can get more exp.I did my worse plant on a top cola,and a side branch.Not even sure if you can do a side branch,guess i'll find out.On another plant that had only 2 colas i topped it and we'll see if it helps or not.The biggest is now 8" the smallest is 6 1/2".I have been watering every other day,its been 1 gallon for the 5 plants so far.The girls look good,green and bushy,new growth everyday.I had first hoped to go to flowering at day 30,but they were only like 6 or 7 inches tall,and I didnt feel I would reach my goal of 2 -3 oz per girl.So I am going to see where they are at at day 35(hopefully 8-10") pics are day 31 the last pic i had to move the light up to take the pic it's usually 16"above the plants with no problems

for the four colas thing, there is a specific way to do that, often used in orchards - u let the plant grow to about 6 nodes, and top it just above the second real node (not including the cotyledons' node)

Those look like healthy plants my friend. I answered your (my) other post but now I see what setup you have. I am sure your plants are the size they are because of the pot size. For some reason these plants like a lot of room to stretch. I flowered one plant in a 2gallon pot like yours at 35 days and it is now about 2ft tall and looks to have an ounce on it. The rest of my plants are in 4 gallon pots and they are significantly bigger. I too seem to have a mg or something fluctuation now and then ... It has happened at one point on multiple different grows with this strain. Just watch your PH and keep the days Sunny.

Thanks all,that makes me feel a bit better that they shouldn't be much taller.Almost done with week 5 veg,and the growth rate has really picked up in weeks 4 and 5.The biggest is 9" now,and the smallest is 7".They all are as wide as the 2gallon pot which is 9" wide.I just bought some big bud to go with the fox farm trio,the hydro store said use it for weeks 2,3,4 with my normal fox farm nutes.I have heard and seen some real good things about big bud but didnt know if and how to use it along with the big bloom,tiger bloom, and grow big.I hope this really helps the bud formation.I also need to know about I have a side light that is a t5 4' flouresant with the 6000k grow light.I do not at the moment have the 3000k flowering light for it.Is it worth leaving this light on during flowering or just shut it off and don't use it since it is not a flowering bulb??Day 32 today,Thursday we go to 12/12 let the good times roll.

Hey all,The girls are sleeping for 36 hours then on comes the 400w HPS.The tallest is 9",2 of them are 8",and the other 2 are 7".On to flowering when they wake up thursday morning.I'll do pics then day 35

faulty,do you think re potting into 3 gallon pots would help my yield?

WOW,good news,the 36 hours of no lights is over,and the flowering light is on,and MAN DID THEY GROW,I had no idea that they would grow with the light off ,and they grew 2" in 36 hours.The biggest is now 11" the smallest is now 9" and man do they look good.The camera battery is charging,i will take pics in about an hour and post.Day 1 of flowering is finally here
YA!!!!!!!!.Usually today I would water ,but with the lights being out 36 hours they pots are still moist.I mixed up a new batch of fox farm nutes and now using the tiger bloom for the first time.I have big bud coming from A.N. for weeks 2,3,4.Does anyone have exp with big bud nute????I'm going to add that with my fox farm trio of nutes.

Just wait - you'll be amazed at what they do next. Over the course of the next two weeks, they'll attain most of their hieght - so expect growth spurts every day, and make sure to adjust your light accordingly.

If you have to option I would consider keeping them under the MH until the end of the 'mad stretch', and stretch they will I changed over to my hps at 1 week flower and still got a good 6" of stretch between internods. Mind you they were tight as a tick under the MH. Great grow thou, keep it up! My Blackjacks are about 3 weeks from coming down

the 5th pic shows 2 areas i tried topping again.So far I'm not seeing anything happen with those.But the first time i did it when they were 10 days i didnt see anything happen for like a week.,so its a wait and see game.Like i said earlier,i did a side branch an a main cola on this one,not sure if a side branch can even be done,nobody gave an opinion yet on that.I think it's the 8th pic of a single plant outside of the tent

hey unity,hows the smell with yours?So far I have no smell which im glad of for safetys sake but have heard they are very stinky later in the flowering process.

Hardly any in the beginning of flower, and now freaking heavenly ))))
You will not be disappointed!

I was searching around ebay for a vaporizer and some other things,and i came across a cheap way to produce co2.For $20 I am gonna get the ingredients,tubing,container, to have what they say will be 3 months of co2 in my tent.Today I also removed about 40 lower leaves today to try and get more light to the lower bud sights.that thinned them out a bit and I can finally see some main stalk.Sprayed them down with nute mix and I think I'm gonna get Advanced Nutrients Overdrive to go with the big bud.So that will make 5 nutes,the fox farm trio,big bud for weeks 2-4 and overdrive for weeks 5-8.I am hoping with the co2,the big bud and overdrive I can reach my goal of 10-15oz or 2-3oz per plant.I am in this for the yield thats for sure,I smoke what I grow.Would love to hear comments on my set up and yield goal.I am already thinking of my next grow and think I am going to go with 3 Nirvana strains,New York City Power Diesel,Raspberry Cough,and Bubbleicious.My biggest concern with this grow is the smell I am going to have to deal with in a few weeks to harvest.I have spent a nice nug to combat this.I also was looking around for how I was gonna store my bud and I totally recommend Tightvac containers.They are awesome,I got 4 of them a 2.35 litre which is going to be my main storage container(1/2-3/4lb)then I got a .12litre which is great for 1/2 ounce so I don't have to keep opening the big container.And a .06 liter which is a little bigger then a film container,great for a few days stash,can be kept in your pocket.They are water proof and air tight,they suck the air out every time you put the cap on.They come in different colors,I got black so you couldnt see inside them.Do I sound like a rep?? lol...they are really neat,check them out.
I think I'm gonna get the mini Vapir vaporizer off ebay for $125,comes with the rechargeable batteries and charger,and the wall socket cord.I'm all about smoking less to get the same effect,and I'm also all about less smell in my house when I smoke.So I think this will be a great investment,they say you should smoke 1/3-1/2 less then you do now if you use this instead.So if i can make my newly grown harvest last that much longer before I have to grow again thats good for me.I need to move into my own house to feel comfortable doing this non stop,right now,im paranoid as it is and just want to get thru this grow and move out of here in summer.

Nooooooo don't remove any more leaves! It's the leaves that make your buds grow!
