Default 400W HPS veg?

Has anyone had trouble vegging with a 400W HPS before?
I recently vegged a plant with one and It didnt turn out too well.

i veg with a 400watt hps... i have no problems. a lil stretch but no biggie

Just for the record they do make conversion bulbs to run a MH bulb in a HPS ballast and vice versa, they may not be as effecient as full fledged HPS/MH lights but even still they work great.

im using a 600 hps at the mo. hopin that it'll do fine. i've got 2 on jus started germin (straight in soil on sun) not pokin up yet.thinkin bout puttin another 2 in there.

dude, definitely some stretching goes down when i put youngins under the fuck a spartan. I started vegging with madd cfls then switching to HPS for the flowering. Then you can use the CFLs while flowering to get up in between plans for more penetration.. i need to stop telling people about this

MHS
(Blue Spectrum) is best for veg, HPS(red spectrum) is best for budden and Super Ace is good for all. Get a Super Ace bulb and forget about it
