Cost of your set up

I was just wondering what kind of money it cost if you were to grow for your first time with a hydroponic system? How much would it cost if you set up you own like this one Build Your Own Hydroponics System | BGHydro and the cost of other things like lights, food?

to set up a good setup your going to need around 500-800 dollars i'd say. you can go cheap but you will grow cheap. save up and get good lights(200-500), good nutes(30-50), a good reliable hydro system(homemade probly 100-250), good mediums(20-30) and good meters(need to test ph, ppm, and ec on regular basis, a good meter runs upwards of 100 bucks).

i spent close to 1000 on everything for my closet setup and i dont even have a hydro system... i didnt think i was gonna be spending this much but this shits expensive.

growin in soil,,in closet,,spent 270,,on cooled reflector,,and 600 watt hps and ballast,,60 on new bulb for 400 hps wich I got from friend with ballast(free),,80 on fans,,50 on soil and nutes,,10 on rooting gel,,110 on cfl's and floro's,,30 on cool tube(E-Bay DIY) plus mylar and some odds and ends,,,,,prolly bout 700 or so ,,,,,so far,,lol,,once ya start(and have success)ya can't stop
