Default how to use 125W enviro

i just pruchased a 125 and a 85W enviro. I already had one that is bigger than normal and needs the special bigger socket (think its called e-40) to screw in. These new ones however need the regular sized sockets but on the lamps with those sizes it always says "max 75W". Can i still use these or do i need to get special sockets for stronger bulbs.
The big socket for the 125W i already have is made for more watt so there it wasnt a problem. Im just not sure what i should do with bulbs that fit into regular lamps yet have more Watt than "allowed".
I tried the bulbs in a regular socket that also said max 75W and it worked. Im not sure if they will be damaged if left on for a longer time, if itll cause some kind of fire hazzard or the bulb wont light up to its full brightness. What should i do?

from the info i just found it looks like because of the build in ballast they work wit regular sockets. Is this true and will they still light up to full potential in a 75W max socket?

yep. it should fit in a normal lamp socket. as long as it screws in and operates it should be fine and the bulb strength shouldent diminish if there isnt a dimmer switch in the lamp

the rating on the socket has nothing to do with the power that can come out from it, its a rating of how much heat it can handle (in this case an old fashion 75w bulb).
