Some questions about beggining growing

I was thinking about beginning growing marijuana. I was going to have a setup like this:

I would be using the typical computer hard drive with a fluorescent light inside, I may put in a computer fan, and it would be probably well aerated. It would be underneath my house which is pretty cold, even in the hottest parts of summer. I have these questions though:
Would the height be enough?
If it isn't high enough how could i fix it?
How could i make sure no light shines out, but it still gets enough air and is cool enough?
Would it be good enough to sit it in fertilized soil?
Is it big enough for 2 plants?

Welcome to the forum. You have a lot of research to do. That box would make a nice clone box......period. Read some journals from other folks posted in this forum. I wouldn't try to grow in any area that wasn't at least 5' high. Your container of soil will take up at least a foot probably more like 1 1/2', your light 2" above the plant will take another foot, and you will need space to install vents etc. Do the math. VV

I would be very amused by someone trying to grow in there, but victorvicious i right, cant be used from veg to flowering because the space is too small.

For my first grow a couple of years ago I used a rubbermaid storage closet that was a little over 4' tall. (2) Skunks from seed under a 250w HPS, 4 weeks of veg, my first week of flower I had to move them to something taller because they had grown almost 4 inches in the first week alone. The plants ended up being a hair under 5' by harvest. That computer thing is a nice novelty item but its not pratical for growing at all. Not to mention for what they charge for it you could build something decent with components from your local Home Depot or Lowes.

man computer is too small for phase 2!!!!!!!!for clonings is best but only for clonings

Personally i would say the computer would be big enough for the first week of veg under cfl, i dont know after that cause im not sure how fast they keep growing but my babies are 2-4 days old and range from 2cm-5cm, but they have only been
under about 5000 lumens (cfl) for about a day and a half.

I would say good for clones, sprouts and germination, thats about it.
