dudes i need help please![]()
bought 2 12v pc fans to cool my small grow box
tryied connecting to a 9v ac adapter ..
worked for a second .. and i didnt notice it to stop .. i stoped it intentionaly and tryied connecting the 2 fans properly
as my test run seemed to go well .. i wired everything together .. but nothing worked. .
then i went and tried every combination possible with the 2 fans ! and notice i only tried 1 of them at the begining ...
anyway nothing works
the ac adapter works ... im checked ..
but fans are dead !!!
what did i do wrong ? how could i kill a fan so quickly without even a little smoke ... smell or anything actualy ...
how can i avoid this problem again .. because i must work with pc fans ..
im low on space and trying to keep all the space possible for the plants
pleeeaaasssseee help .. this basicly ruined my whole week![]()
i basically just took 2 old fone chargers, sniped leads, bared wires, one is red other black or yellow.]
just hook up red charger cable to red pc cable wire, and black/yellow charger wire to black fan wire, snip any other pc wires, not need, mines work a charm, fone chargers are 9v but can run a 12v fan without burnout.. hope this helps as its not the voltage thatll be blowing it but the amps..

For those of you having problems with multi-wired fans, my advice would be to buy them with only the 2 wires. Just search the internet for 2 pin PC fans. Hopefully that helps. They're usually only a buck or 2 a piece.
good post, photographs included.
