first time growing indoors, i have a question?!

I have a question about growing indoors, i have a 2by2 foot space to work with. how many seeds can i plant in that area and what watt HPS light bulb should i buy and about how much is that?

another question... is it possible to have separate, smaller containers that only holdsone seed and have about 4 under my one bulb? or would they all have to be in one container?

PLEASE ATLEAST ANSWER ONE!!!!
