3 -1/2 weeks from seed.
About 60% of my plants are looking just fine. Deep green leaves and strong roots. But then I have a few that have leaves starting to turn brown/yellow and curling up. Some more so than others. I had them in my aero cloner and went the 1st 2 weeks with nothing but distilled water and always kept the PH between 5.5 and 6.0. During the 3rd week I added some nutes at 250PPM and a few of them really responded well. But the others started with this browning just recently. I just moved them tonight into a DWC set up and increased the nutes to a PPM of exactly 600PPM. My thinking was that the ones that were lagging were doing so from lack of nutrients. But maybe I am wrong in that assessment? It could be that some of the leaves are burning from heat. The ambient temp is about 70, but it ranges from 80-85 under the T5's. I keep the plants just a few inches away. BUT that wouldnt explain how some are looking so good while the others are not..AND it's not the top leaves that are having issues anyway. It could actually be nute burn as well. Even though I started all of the plants at the same time... SOME have really taken off, while the others are still relatively small. I am using a few different strains, so that could be a factor as well. And another possibility.. As I was moving them, I saw a little critter walking near my set up. It was quite small, but yet large enough that I saw it walking on the ledge. I killed it and have been looking for more on the plants, but I do not see any. Dont know how the hell that one got in here, let alone any more of them. Anyhow.. I am at a loss here. Any ideas? Should I toss the bad ones out so they dont infect the good ones? Assuming its a disease of course.. I am hoping its just a nute problem though. Here are some pics.. a couple of the good ones(1st 2 pics.. looking nice and full.. and a beautiful dark green) and a couple pics of the plants that are showing this browning/spotting/yellowing. ty |

the strain difference could well be it,i know of a good few strains that wouldnt respond well to 600ppm at that size, but youve only just dont that right, hmmm, check ALL over for bugs, everywhere, leave no leaf unturned just incase
,ive got a few minute flies in my tent but,i expected that hopefully, wont be anything bad,and i had a visit from a butterfly today, madly attacking the 600w hps lol what strains exactly??? how many t5s/total wattage are you using for how many plants?sorry to ask more questions they seem a tad small for |

I would assume it to be a difference in strains myself, but I have 1 bubble cheese with this problem and 1 without. 1 N.L. with and 1 without.. and 1 White berry with and 1 without. So it's not really strain specific. Kinda rules that out I think. I don't have a magnifying glass (going to go out and get one), but I do see tiny little white dots on some of my leaves. Possibly eggs? They are odd shaped though and not really uniform in appearance.. but I wouldnt know what they look like. So it's possible. But nothing under the leaves, just a few of these white speckles on top. As for the lighting.. I have a couple 216 watt lights.. So 432 total. Plenty of light. ty |

OK.. I just looked at the little white spots under a microscope/magnifying glass and they don't look like the images I have seen online of spider mite eggs. Spider mite eggs seem to look like gel capsules (based on the online images), but these little white spots look like they are powdery and plastered on. When I wiped it, it smeared. Mind you, this is TINY and barely visible to the naked eye. Not sure what it could be, but that's the best I can describe it. Any ideas? BTW there is not much of it.. Just a speckle or two on a leaf.

Sorry Cissy!!!!havent been on
thats bugs for sure, definately bug eggs, check again for the actual adult spider mites,if u dont know what they look like,im sure you do,but theyre little yellow buggers, fucking small as hell sometimes, but just sit there, and spend a minute at least staring at each plant, looking everywhere on them, youll soon spot them if they are there you need some non-toxic bug spray,or some neem oil,i use and swear by Spray safe, which someone told me was actually neem based,it kills more than just mites and you can use it even in the last week before harvest, its utterly non toxic and there is no withholding period, back off the nutes back to the previous schedule and go on the bug attack and yeh 432 watts of t5 light is certainly fine! |

I sprayed AzaMax on them yesterday. Will that do the trick? OR Should I order something else? It claims to kill spider mites and a whole list of other things as well. But it says to spray it once every 7 days as a preventative measure.. nothing about spraying more often once there is already an infestation. It got drastically worse over the past 24 hours though, since I have sprayed.. So I am at a loss still. thanks for your advice.. any other thoughts? Ever heard of the AzaMax? what else can i do? |

Whatever this was, it nearly destroyed my entire crop. I used just about everything under the sun to try and save them (fungicide, insecticide, neem oil, and a fogger). Whatever it was, it got better. Amazingly since I nearly finished them off with the fogger I used (my air pump filled the DWC reservoir with poison..opps). I removed the toxic water when I got home and flushed... They recovered amazingly well, but now they are starting to show the same early signs that they showed before.. WTF?
I have looked through my magnifying glass until my eyes have crossed and I have not seen a single mite or anything else on them. WTF? But this seems like a case of some eggs hatching and starting round two based on everything else. Just that I havent seen a single pest on them!! What on earth could be the problem here??? |
