New to growing but I have some great seeds (Belladonna, Fem WW, and NL x Skunk) and good equipment. Does promix itself have any nutrients in it at all or do I have to add nutes to it as soon as I plant them, thanks for the help all.

itsd has one full strgth feeding in it (1.3 -2.0 ec) howevwer dont worry about, premier told me its washe out after one watering....

still use your regular feeding schedule..

i sure wouldnt add nutes right after planting, you will burn the plants to hell. Allow them several weeks before you introduce them to nutes. They should have 3-4 nodes before you try and push them, allow the root structure to grow.

I dont know about that muyoso. I have 0 exp with promix but it is similar to FF light warrior. I wanted to start some seeds in that but my the HTG guys said it didnt have any nutes in it, he mentioned that using soiless mix like light warrior and promix is like doing hydro, which indicated to me that the feedings would have to start as soon as the babies started looking for nutrients. PPL who do soil grows use promix as a soil additive to thin out really hot soil with a ton of nutes in it.

Think about this. When you clone a plant, you give them 0 nutes. Basically water and some rooting hormone. Once they root, then you can give them nutes. You can search through the forum here and find hundreds of people with little fried seedlings, because they were giving them nutrients. Your plants will grow fine without nutes for a couple weeks, or until the 3rd or 4th node. And no, people who do soil grows use promix and NOTHING else. The people who use soils like Miracle Gro run into trouble a lot of the times because there are already nutes in the soil. A proper soil grow is done with a nice soilless mix like promix or one of the many others. It has absolutely no nutrients in it, drains exceptionally well, and retains moisture very well. If your HTG guy, whoever it is, said that using soiless mix is like doing hydro, you need a new HTG guy, whatever an HTG guy is.

Muyoso I think your confused. A good soil grow does not use a soilless mix. I grow in soil and use a organic blend of FF ocean forest and a local orgo soil. Unlike a grow in a soilless mix you do not need to fert regularly. I am currently in 1st week flower an have not added anything to soil but PH'd water and they are going great.

I dont disagree with the fact that people burn seedlings, seeds have a food supply and dont need nutes for some time, Clones consume stored energy in their remaining fan leaves. Plants grown in soilless mix however require ferts soon after planting, like salty said it has one feeding in it but then ferting should commence. Hell, on the bag it says you should start a nute regimin after 7 days.

Oh and the HTG is the guy at the counter at high tech garden supply, where half the guys here in the US get their lights. Im not saying he was giving me anything other then quick advice, but I wanted to start seeds in soilless media and he said I would have to start ferting early, like hydro, if I went the soiless rout.

Sorry to offer some corrections but you make me sound like an idiot that wants ppl to use MG, not that there is anything wrong with that, however when you tell a dude not to follow the instruction printed on the bail of pro-mix I feel like you need to provide a little more information of why that is so.

I've used promix, even though it doesnt have any nutes, seedlings will grow fine a couple weeks without nutes like the other guy said, when do add nutes just go half strength and see how they look
