Yeah there are many strains which pistils mean nothing. Just get a small microscope and inspect the trichomes. They also show potency and type of high

So here it is. its about time to harvest. 3 plants all unknown bagseed (first grow). the first two look about harvest ready. their hairs are mostly reddish and everything looks kosher. now the third and largest plant...some of the lower budsites are amber but the Cola is completely white hairs, maybe one or two random amber fellows through out. this last plant is the healthiest of the lot and looks like it will put out twice as much as the other two combined. so i want to be careful.
I dont know what strain it is and how long it needs to mature. its been flowering for 9 weeks now, isnt that usually long enough? are there strains where the amber hairs do not necessarily denote harvest readiness? and if so is there any other way to check to potency/readiness?
