Default 1st Time Grow, Need Some advice
Hey everybody, I have a question and was hoping to get a little advice. It's my first Grow so please excuse my rookieness.

Anyways, I'm growing Super Skunk feminized in Miracle Grow Soil/Compost in a 4 gallon pot. Now I made the mistake of giving her nutes to early, when she was about 2wks old and burned her. I've since flushed her out with 9 gallons of water (since the compost retains mositure, it makes for draining hard so I did this over a two week period.) She's just over 5 weeks now and although she's growing fine, about 9-10 inches, she shows signs of nute burn on all her new leaves. Since the Nute Burn isn't really that bad and she seems to be growing steadily, should I flush her with 7 more gallons or just leave her alone and let the problem correct itself? I know it's hard to give advice without pics, but I'm broke and don't have a camera. btw, the ferts I'm using is JRClassic and I also gave her a tblspn of Epsom salt. I know...I ODed. The burning is happening on the tips and edges of the leaves. Any help is greatly appreicated. Thank u.

Miracle grow soil already has nutes in it which is bad for seedlings and young plants. Flushing just releases more nutes in the soil mix. Like pouring gasoline to put out a fire. If it were me I would repot in a soil mixture that had no nutrients in it. This way you can control the nutrients better.

I've used Miracle Grow in the past and have had nothing but problems with it.

If you can - get some Happy Frog soil. Out of all the soils I've used Happy Frog is my favorite.

Best of luck to you!

Nick

The 2 posts above are exactly correct, MG soil is harsh if not used carefully with other nutes because it feeds up to 3 months on time release nutes.. 5 weeks into flowering it fucked me and I will never use Mg again for another grow, spend the extra couple bucks and have a beautiful harvest, I am using Fox Farm Ocean Forest, I like it because the Fox Farm nutes are spectacular and it comes with its own feeding schedule, easy as 1-2-3. So instead of figuring out lame ass ways to prevent from nute burning your plants you can work on LST, topping/FIM'ing, or other great ways to make your plant bushier. Nute burn is very devastating to plants at all stages, but luckily you're just in veg but you are still at a crucial point cause your plant is still at a delicate stage. Goodluck

Thanks for the advice all, much much appriciated. I won't be using MG anymore. I can't repot her right now so I'll just wait a couple of weeks and see how things turn out. Thanks again. BTW, would it be okay to put her in Flower even if she continues to show signs of Burn or no?

Seems alotta folks missed the "broke" part. Been there did that.
If the new growth at the top of the plant looks ok, no burns, just let it grow and cut back on watering as mg soil tends to be a little heavy/moist.
Well at least that is what i have done in the past.
