Hi, im building a platform bed this week that is going to be about 3ft high and closed off with ply wood. i have a secret entrace beneath my mattress that goes inside the platform to my grow cave. lol im planning on growing 1-2 plants sog style only because i live at home with parents and want to keep the plant size down. The seeds are from a bag of bud.. 1 of the seeds is from some headies i have it in a jar germinating. im planning on using 2 old maxwell coffee tins with holes punched in the bottom and rocks on the bottom with some dirt from my compost pile. I am going to take a trip to home depot or walmart soon to get 2-4 cfls ( 1 above each plant and one to the side of each plant) will this be enough light and not too much heat for having 1 24" house fan blowing on the plants on low/medium depending on how strong they are and 1 5" fan blowing air out the window? Im not trying to grow anything dank. I am just expirimenting and would like to profit some weed that i can smoke untill i get better seeds.
Oh and BTW the platform will be 6-7 feet long and 4-5 feet wide with 3-3.5 ft high.

yeah dude here is an idea, wait until you move out. Do you have any idea how deep of shit you can get your parents in if that is ever caught. Now that I have said that, how are you venting the air out of there? is there fresh air going in to it or is the air only getting moved around? The lights will be fine but don't think that they will grow fast they always take longer it seems to grow under cfl's. if you can get some perlite in there that would help greatly for your dirt or you might choke off your roots.

i forgot the small computer fan that vents air out the window. There will be a hole for it and plastic tubing taking the air out the window

What are the running temps in there? How are you stopping the smell leak, even the weakest weed will create a smell and it just gets stronger. I would do a cheap-o fake waterfall with pinesoul in it to mask the smell if you are unable to get/make yourself a carbon filter. But a carbon filter would be the way to go. Do you have any air going in at all or is it only what is being pulled in because of the void of the other fan blowing out? Temps are the biggest thing with me but I use two 600 hps lights so that won't be as big a thing for you. Good luck and make sure your ass doesn't get caught. Trust me you will not like what would happen.
