so I started a system that I thought was a good idea but have been told it might not be...

1. I grow a few plants from seed and when ready I take a few clones from each.
2. Then flower the first few plants that had just been cloned and veg the clones in another room.
3. When clones are ready to flower, I take a few clippings off of them, put the big ones in to flower, veg the new clones and repeat.

Right now I have one mother about 3 weeks ahead of 2 more mothers that have been under T5 lights for vegging. I moved them to a different room that is bigger and allows space for my 400w HPS and T5. The oldest mother is big and ready to flower so i took some clones off it but noticed the next day that it grew some pre flowers.

So my questions are: is my system dumb? why did the 1st plant start flowering (light schedule remained constant but I did add the HPS light)? can i veg it out for a few more weeks while the other 2 plants catch up or do pre flowers mean it needs to start flowering ASAP?

any info would be really helpful!

cassato....your not a dumbass...sorry to break it to you lol! Your plant is going to show preflowers or sex during veg it is normal! It will not start to flower until the 12\12 switch.... hope this helps..good luck

some genetics mean you cannot keep mothers for massive periods,they will try to bud sometimes,or she may just be showing sex because shes old,im no expert tho my friend

Only T5 for veg/250hps for flower.

Zip n a half's all i need /month and i'm golden. This setup will yield that and more.

My first test clone under the 250, from ph problems, to light distance problems, to heat issues, through it all, she never stopped putting out pistils.

I topped her twice, (during veg) both times she spit out a few pistils, i guess preflowers.
I asked the same thing, it's normal.
She's 6wks female on thursday, and 7wks 12/12 saturday.
All issues seem resolved, she's putting on weight every day. Heavy resin also.

2 Kush seeds 14 days old tomorrow under T5 to get mom. Top/clone tomorrow and hope for 2 fems.
In a week they go to flower.
