this is the new grow:

5 white widow/ 5 hindu kush (both from nirvana)

i am shooting for 30-40 days vegging, although im not totally sure yet as i have never grown either strain before.

lighting: i will be vegging under 4 40w 48'' flouro tubes, then they will go into my flowering room under the 600w hps.

medium: foxfarm ocean forest soil mixed with perilite.

fertilizer: foxfarm growbig, tiger bloom, big bloom, and molasses towards the end of flowering.

i started germinating my seeds 8/27, yesterday. as of today i have 4/5 white widow showing taproots and 3/5 hindu kush. my method of germination is as follows:

1 plastic tupperware container w/lid
papertowel
superthrive root hormone
distilled water
large dish towel

first i take about a cup of distilled water add a drop or two of superthrive to it, then take the paper towel and submerse it in the water then ring it out til it stops dripping with water thats about as wet as you need it. next i take the paper towel rip it in half and put 5 seeds on each half. then fold it up, put it in the tupperware container and add just a lil bit more water, then put the lid on. next i wrap the container in a large dish towel (my container is clear and you dont want light getting in) then i simply set it on the water heater and wait. should start to crack in 12-24 hours and be ready for dirt in no more than 48. i usually have about a 90-95% success rate using this method.

i plan on documenting this grow all the way up to harvest, i will be cloning and taking mothers aswell. hopefully this journal will help some who may be just starting out and need something to refrence from. all post, comments, etc, etc, are more than welcome!

I'll grab a seat for this one, i have some ww from nirvana that i haven't had a chance to grow yet so i would like to see this. My hindu kush from nirvana are just finishing up. those buds look nice!! great job man. so what would you say about nirvana's hindu kush? is it pretty decent or what? ive heard differing opinions about nirvana's strains and would just like to get your take on it major toke?

I had 100% germination rate and above average male to female ratio. The buds are very cyrstally and it looks like i'm going to get a decent yield. One thing that bothers me is they don't smell too much and i don't even have a carbon filter, i can only smell it during the dark cycle when the fans are off and i am near that room. I cut an early sample off one plant from about midway down.. maybe a little lower. I gave it a manicure and a quick dry/cure and smoked it. The bud was hard/dense/tight and tasted good. It had that kush taste but didn't taste as strong as the kush i get from a friend, the high was good too for a immature bud. If you would like to see it, i am going to post a picture gallery alright.

how did you pay on nirvana? i want to order some so bad because my 5 foot babies three weeks into flower were jacked by some fucking assholes. so i need to go indoors until next year. :/

your plants got jacked? that sucks!! i would be uber pissed. hope you have more luck next time. i used a credit card to get my seeds, i always use a credit card and have had no problems i received my seeds in i think roughly 10 days or so it was pretty quick. good luck man

8/30 - well i checked last night and all 10 germinating seeds have cracked and are showing taproots. i was too tired last night to plant them so i did it today. so here goes.........

i use 9oz. party cups which will their home for the first 7-10 days, just long enough to get a good root system then on to bigger pots.

1. first thing i do is pre-mix my foxfarm soil and perilite. then you want to add a little distilled water to the mix (just enough to get the soil moist NOT WET) also make sure you keep your soil moist until you have sprouts, if they dry out it will kill the seeds.

2. next take a pencil, using the eraser side and make a hole in the soil about 1/4in. deep.

3. get tweezers and carefully place germinated seeds in the alotted hole taproot down, then gently cover back up with soil. (never use your fingers when handling seeds, bacteria and oils on your hands can damage the delicate taproot.)

4. last but not least i put the cups in the grow room and lift the lights to about 3-4ft. above the cups this helps the young seedlings know which way is up (note: i keep my lights on 24/7 until i have sprouts then switch over to 18/6, some have other ways of doing things, this is how i do it) and i no time i should have baby cannibas plants reaching for the surface!!
