i'm using regular miracle gro soil, which claims to feed plants for up to 3 months. when would it be safe to start using some dilute 20-20-20 on my plants. they are almost three weeks old. thanks!

i wouldnt... ide wait longer that way ur plants can handle it better and perhaps som of the nutes in the soil will be washed away

Change the soil bro, I was heading down the same path as you thinking everything would be cool, 6 weeks into flowering i noticed Fan leaves drying up and dying at a very fast rate, i flushed and tried to keep it from burning them too bad and ended up getting a decent Harvest// however.... That was my first grow... and I will never EVER use miracle Grow Soil along with other nutes again. Horrible idea, I strongly reccomend changing your soil immediately.

You might end up with a wilted pile of yellow crap!!!!!! Why in the world would you use miracle grow dirt? If you have to use that nasty bug harboring substance know as potting soil (it sends shivers down my spine just thinking about growing in dirt) get a good bag from the grow store with worm castings and pearlite and peat moss. Or you could go with a nice soiless mix like sunshine mix. using those kinds of products will allow you to use nutrients with less fear of burning up your plants. Even then you want to start with 1/4 strength solution and then ramp it up from there once you are confident you are not over fertilizing. One of the major drags with dirt is is you get your fertilizer wrong it takes forever to fix. I can fix any nute problem I have with my hydro rig in about ten min. just flush and fill.

miracle gro is just as good as anything else, it's just not noob friendly

you have to know what your plants are asking for

fox farm ocean forest is expensive because it's easy

miracle gro is cheap because its hard to use

Dude.. If you want to maximize your nutes for bigger buds, you cannot use Miracle Gro.... Yeah you can figure out a way to grow with it, but you will not be able to pump in as much Blossom builder as you would like.... Miracle Gro is not the way to go, it can be used to grow with, I did it.... But I will not do it again since I have a choice.

Miracle is fine it's just too strong... use half MG half vermiculite and pearlite (more pearlite = less water held and more vermiculite = more water held). Also don't give any furts until 2nd month and only weak ones. DON'T USE REGULAR MIRACLE GROW... plants are bound to die 4 weeks in.

thanks for all the info guys. i have been planning on switching to FF ocean forest (supplemented w/ perlite and extra worm castings) when i transplant in a couple weeks. it's my first grow so i'd rather keep the variables that could mess up my plants to a minimum, and it seems most people do not prefer miracle gro. thanks again for the advice!

Don't nute them bro!!! Just let em grow without the nutes, they'll be fine if you water every 2-3 days.
