lol i upgraded to 400 hps had to cease use till more adequate ventalation arrives. my 10x12 room jumped 16 F with ballast out of room completely
i will be running on 400 and one 600 dont underestimate the heat.

too much heat it gets really dry.... to dry open season for pests and other problems.

I'm getting a fan to just exhaust the heat off the light and then another to bring in fresh air and take out the old. Hopefully that plus a fan should do well in the little closet.

With a 400w in that little space, you will certainly need to exhaust. But you may be able to do it with just 1 fan.
If you are cooling the lamp hood, you should suck from it and exhaust, and the air will be pulled in the other side of the hood, and from outside the room.
Your oscillating fan will circulate the air.

Remember, whatever space you are exhausting, you need twice that space for intake. IOW if you are exhausting a 6 inch duct, then you need to have at least two 6 inch holes open for air to come into the room.

.. I myself have a 400W hps in a rather smaller growing space, but like potroast said one fan will do you. I have a tower fan blowing in.. so it hits my plants and my light, then I have a fan at the top blowing out.. its ghetto-ish, but surely gets the job done for a small personal supply of plants as I can see so far.
