Okay. Well im thinking of growing 6 plants in a hydrohut. What would the best light be for that. Ive seen people change lights from hps to mh for different stages of growth, could someone please explain that a little better and could i just use a hps or mh throughout? Basically just tell me the best combination of lighting for my 6 plants.

the cheapest way is to buy some cheap floeresnt lights to use as veg lights(shoplights) then use a hps for flowering, or you can buy a interchangeable hps, witch means it takes mh and hps light bulbs,so weither your using a 400 watt hps system or a 600 watt, so for veg and flower the only thing your changing is the light bulb

i wouldnt get the shoplights because of their length, but i would definetly go with CFL's for seedling/clone/ and vegging. I started w/ shoplights and regret wasting the money. (1) lamp, (1) y-splitter, and (2) 42W CFL's in a cool blue spectrum. Thats all the light you'll need for only 6 clones at a time until flowering. The 400W HPS is recommended to light around a 3x3sq/ft area perfectly i hear only minor heat to have to worry about... smaller fans, vents etc
