Im hearing a lot of people getting busted and its supposed to be choppers with thses F.L.I.R.S how is it that they can spot hp lights is it by the light or from heat ?

FLIR= foward looking infrared. it senses subtle temperature differences. the best way is just to line yoru room with a good insulator

Ive been thinking about it would the heat from the light not just blend into room temp. if you only have 1x 400 or 600 hps or would a hot water boiler not look similar to what they see ..

........it just dont seem enough evedince to kick some 1s door in it could be grampa making some patchine/moonshine lol or granma cooking some apple cakes

couldnt give you a definite answer but...for instance military applications, with a ground temp of 50 F for example a human body of 98.6 F is bright white against a very dark ground. i think it would really have to depend on the material between the bulb and the device. a standard insulated house wall and a single 600w hps would seem hard to believe it could pick that up enough to warrant any further investigation as to what the heat source is...but i may be totally wrong....on a related subject large forests of marijuana have been used for the towel heads in afghanistan (Troops battle 10-foot marijuana plants - Peculiar Postings - MSNBC.com ) hide in because of the heat of the marijuana flir couldnt pick them up.

build a room in a room and a/c the outter room

most flir detection will be defeated by this.

Ive got mines in a room with in a room its not somthing im worried about myself but !There was about 6-7 busts near me an thats how they were supposed to get caught by the eye in the sky and they are also are ment to be driving about with these in there jeeps to
I think most people were i am thats growing a bit of personal just wont be burning any more than a 600w light ... theres eather a tout in the camp or they are getting caught by the eye in the sky thats what every 1 is saying anyway how they got busted
