I'm not trying to be mean I'm just trying to help you. But if you are gonna flower with those tiny lights you might as well flower outside. Wattages that low are just good for a night light.

no smart ass, i have a $600 house payment and $250 jeep payment to make every month on top of the bill for my grow room. I use a 430watt hps for flowering my room, i wanted to make a cfl box so that my plants would make tighter buds on smaller plants. i prefer that over the fluffy buds that hps lighting give.

i duno what kinda hps ur using dude.. its unheard of for a "430watt hps" to make fluffy buds not to mention u think a little box surrounded with tin foil with 2 23watt cfls will over power an hps...

my idea is that it will make tighter buds by keeping the plant smaller and nodes tighter together. If I top it to the point that it has a bunch of tops then i will get many smaller colas harvested from the plant which will be tighter little nuggets. I dont care how much the thing produces or even if it takes much longer as i have smoke to smoke on from my room. I just wanted to make a smaller grow op where I could handle the variables better to make the best quality smoke for myself that i can.
I just want denser, cleaner burning and overall better tasting smoke. i plan on just sticking clones in to root in the box with dwc and immediatlly put into flowering and start topping tips at about the 2nd or 3rd node. I may be wrong on this whole idea, im just going off of theory. if you know a better way of what i wanna do then speak up please. the cfl method is going to take forever for this. would a Vertical box just big enough for the width of a plant be good with a few 4ft fluro tubes be better instead? i considered this idea originally. i thought about putting a fan in each end as well to ventalate it

you might want to re examine how your growing,like your nutes,ventilation,temperature,air circulation first,because if your changeing from a 430 hps to cfl because of loose buds,then their is a problem some were.

i have 8 cfl bulbs (6 26w and 2 43w) and i only have one plant. and my buds are really fluffy. its not gonna matter how many cfl's u put in it the light just isnt intense enough to penetrate the foliage and produce the tight thick buds u are wanting. the only way to do this is with hps. and if u are using a hps and getting fluffy buds u either have the light way too far away or u just dont know what the hell u are doing. if u have an hps use it, i love cfl's because of their cost and lack of heat but ill admit that u will never produce as tight and as thick of buds with cfl's as u would with an hps. thats just fact.

definately going to need more lights i think bro, i have 16 25 watt cfls.. my plants seem to doing allright but no where near as good as a mates HPS grow
