I have researched and read about growing for years but i am pretty new to "applying" what i have learned. One thing i'm unclear about is -

what are the differences between Autoflowering strains and 12/12 from seed in terms of yield potency?Also, why would it be better tto grow one or the other?

Really curious to see what people have to say.

autoflowering strains you can leave the light on 20/4 or whatever the seed bank says to use. no need to switch to 12/12 like the rest of them

so then light cycle flexibility would be a positive for the autoflowers. Is paying the extra six to eight hours a day on an electric bill worth it for an autoflower compared to a regular strain at 12/12 from seed?

yes. however regular strains should not be started out at 12/12 from seed unless you want a disappointing harvest and strange looking plants. i would veg 18/6 then switch to 12/12.

I undertand that the typical way of growing(ex:18/6-12/12) will yield and produce the best.BUT

Out of autoflower and 12/12 from seed--which one?

In the threads there are people that SWEAR by 12/12 and have the pics to back it up, and there are people that prefer the Autos.

It seems as though unless you have a nice light (HID of 400w or higher) 12/12 from seed will produce be weeny turd plants. I could be wrong though.

Autoflowers seem to have an edege. still open for discussion.

Clones that go straight into 12/12 can produce alot.

I have no experience with dwarfs to comment on them though :S

12/12 from seed will only give u decent yields with certain strains mainly sativas. 12/12 from clone is a much better option imo. auto strains are no were near the potency of strains like og kush bubba kush and sour d

Would the clone need to be rooted yet? I was aware that you didnt need much veg time for clones befor flowering, but have wondered if you could cut and just throw it into the flowering phase.

my clones 12/12 give me 1oz or 1 1/2 oz but also take a couple extra weeks Autoflowers are fast and can grow under 20/4 if they made autoflowers more geneticly stable they would be better for people just growing personal in small spaces with cfls. It depends on your set up if your just growing a couple plants every few months autoflowers are perfect for mass production its to much hassle and not enough yeild.
