Recently moved into a new place and had a few option locations for establishing a grow room. Long story short, and for various reasons, it has come down to a former pool shed measuring 8.5’ X 7’ X 8’. Love to have more room, but I could have less, too. Anyway, I will HAVE to make this do for now. Here is the equipment I have:

600W Air-Cooled HPS/MH Reflector and Digital Ballast
8” Elicent Inline Fan (686 CFM - not as quiet as I had hoped)
8’ PHAT Filter (550 CFM)
2 - 14” Oscillating Fans
5 - 3” Low Voltage Circulation Fans
3 – 4’ Fluorescent Hoods with AgroGrow tubes
Full complement of other accessories and nute

I have divided the room in to two section – one seedling/veg, one flower. Attached are top and front views of the plan. On the veg side, I am planning on having a subsection for two mother plants and two subsections for trays holding clones – each installed with heavy duty drawer rollers and folding support rods so that the shelves can be slid out to gain better access. On the flowering side, I figure there is room for 16 plants MAX (depending on grown out size) though my first go round I will likely go with 12. This would seem, to me, to be a plausible, workable deal on a theoretical basis. OTOH, while I’ve had lots of experience growing other things – I’m a first timer when it comes to weed.

My seeds just arrived today and I am planning to do some room setup this weekend. I would appreciate and input you all might have before I get started. Would be happy to supply more information, if needed. As always, thanks in advance.

welcome to the forum. You have obviously done some research. And your drawing, can you send me that software, that is great. I would recommend that you start with the basics. Plumbing system, electrical system, air handling sytem. Install those first for obvious reasons. Word of advice from some one that didn't understand, do not put controls or plugs you need to get to behind the plants or locate switches and shut off valves some where else, like your sink, working area. Plugs for fans etc. might be better on the ceiling if possible.
If those are actual walls you are planing I wouldn't recommend them. Panda plastic movable curtians will work and still keep everything flexible. Unless you are using soil you should be able to flower 24 plants under that light.
You can make drawers to slide the clones out, you will probably find it just as easy to move them to a table that is normal height when you 'work on them' anyway. I take it your plannning on waiting until your first crop is done before you put more plants in the system. 8 to 12 weeks in veg is a long time.
What system, ie flood and drain , soil, aero are you planning on using?

Thanks for the input Double V. I am going soil the first go around as I want to more carefully plan and construct a hydro system, but I want to get going now to obtain some product quickly. Yes, this setup would be the ultimate fruition, knowing that a mother or two and clones would come after vegging the first time. I appreciate what you are saying about walls but I want a flowering area that is light sealed so that vegging can take place in the same structure. Too, the one wall will serve as support for the clone/seedling shelves. I do like theidea of the Panda screens being a bit more flexible, so to speak, but the need for the area to be light proof is trumping all those type of ideas I've had, so far.

Your grow looks tasty. The software I used is Adobe Illustrator (expensive) but much cheaper graphics programs will do.

I second the Panda Plastic, I use it and it's lightproof and reuasable, you can clean it and it leaves you with a huge amount of flexibility, as you have already said. Good to see you are organized, you're grow is going to be nice.
