SO i am making the first step in my grow journey tomorrow by purchasing the majority of the equipment i will be needing from HTGsupply. I have come to a pass though when it comes to the exact 150 watt hps i wanna buy.

I will be purchasing either the Floralux 150 watt hps ( http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct...roductID=49255 ) or the standard HTGsupply 150 watter ( http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct...roductID=53025 ).

With the Floralux, the ballast and lamp are in the same fixture and would both remain in the grow tent area. Also with the Floralux, you can buy a 150 watt AgroMax bulb/lamp which has 30% more blue and is supposed to be pretty badass. But this does bring up the price to $110.

If I got the HTGsupply light I would have the most basic 150 watt light you can buy. Can't be anything awful about it; its just not as sweet. But it only costs $70 which sounds pretty nice to me.

Anybody had any experience with either lighting system? AgroMax bulbs? Which on would be the best buy? And can an AgroMax bulb fit in the Standard htgsupply ballast?

i like you style. Do you (or anybody) know if it holds typw S55 bulbs/lamps?

S55 is the circuitry inside the ballast. The socket is medium mogul. Yes all 150w hps lights will fit in the socket htg sells with their 150w kit. I have the 150w HTG light and will be switching to the Agromax bulb next time. The standard light does great but I can't help but want the blue spectrum.

.. but I'm not sure if the 150w actually has the added blue spectrum. HTG's website doesn't say on the 150w bulb page that it has the added spectrum and neither do several other sites. The 30% addition seems to start at 250w. I can't find agromax's main website to verify though.

which one do you think has a better reflector? Now that i know that the AgroMax bulb will fit it is only an 8 dollar difference between the FloraLux and HTG.

Your really in a catch 22 because the HTG has a seperate ballast so you can store it farther away from the plants and it's heat wont disturb them. But the flourlux has a glass covering which is also very nice. If your growing in a small cab like I am it's nice to have the ballast outside the box.
Again i do not know if the agromax 150w bulb has the added blue spectrum. I'd call to find out, otherwise I would go with the HTG one.
