Cool 872w CFL (Actual) Grow Lowryder 2 *Pics*
Here is my set up. I have:

1x 4.x2x4 Grow tent (or around there)
2x 200w 6700k
1x 200w 2700k
4x 68w 2700k
8x 2gallion Pots
1x 425cfm Exhaust
2x 275cfm inline intake
1x 78cfm inline intake
3x Interior fans

Soil: Happy Frog
Nuts: Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom
Water: Living in the mountians I have great water (ph 7.2 lowered to 6.7)
Seeds: Lowryder 2, Afghan Kush & Lemon Skunk (all auto-flowers). Starting with lowryders and 1 afghan Kush. Lemon Skunk will be round 2.

For germinating I am using a peat. Out of 9 seeds 5 seeds have been germinating for 7 days and still no sprouts all planted 1/4in down. And 3 are above ground. Had a PH issue to start with. Bought a crappy meter, then bought a good one and corrected the problem; ph was at like 8.5 opps. Had a reading of like 6 boosted it to 7. Then tested some PH neutral water and got a reading of 6. Thats when I bought the good tester and released my water was like 7 in the first place but I made it to 8 because the PH meter was telling me at 7. As a side note. INVEST in a good PH meter.

The 3 seeds that have sprouted are in tent. The Kush is way out preforming the lowryders at the moment. One of lowryders (last pic) leave seemed to by curling under a little so I moved the lights up higher and gave her some water and now it seems to be straightening out.

I will be pollinating the kush and one lowryder to make more seeds. Other wise have a look and tell me what you think! Any input is welcome.

Cliddy, nice CFL grow you got there. I'm a CFL grower myself and it looks like you have a bangin' setup. I don't have advice for you at the moment but good luck and post updates as you go. Lookin good so far!

+rep for the first rate CFL grow

yes you have a nice setup with cfls. That is way too many watts to be using for just cfls. Most people would have gone by 350 to 400 actual watts of cfls u got that doubled.Y not use a 600 watt hps.Which would have been way more productive and im quite sure cheaper.++ rep for the setup tho.

Funny story about that. I was worried that a HID could make it too hot
(and to much IR, what i still think) in there. So I went CFL... and went big: thinking that heat would not be an issue. Well it is. It get fucking hot there with out vents on. Like 100 hot, enough to slow cook and egg. But with the exhaust and intakes on, I move so much air that it it stays below 83 even when its hot outside.

But yeah..... probably could of just gone HID. But I am interested to see what results I get with the CFL's. Plus the plants use a lot more of the light admitted.

Looks good to me. I use cfl's for veg. 8 x 26w in a 2'w x 3'd x 4'h. It works wonderful. Your wattage is ALOT more than what I have. I use the dome reflector lights from lowes, lined my little area in mylar and I couldn't ask for a better veg area for a small closet grow. I dont know what k mine are, I just went to walmart and got the blue looking ones since they use mostly blue during veg. What I love so much about the blue spectrum cfl's is how tight it keeps the node spacing. It makes for short stocky bushy plants. Check out these pics. Vegged under only 8 x 26w cfl's. Last pic was taken on the day of harvest. vegged 8 weeks under 8 x 26w cfl's, flowered 7 weeks under 250w hps with 2 x 45w led grow panels for side lighting and 2 x 10.0 uvb 20w 24" fl tubes. I tried to flower under cfl's and was not happy with the final product. So I got the 250w hps and now I'm pulling out some dank when I harvest. But again I do love the cfl's for veg.
