Ok i have read all the threads now about plant plant problems, but my problem is i have it narrowed down to a few culprits but i just cant make a final judgement. Leaves are cupping and some have a little burn on the tips still a good green color to the leaves, no spots, no bugs... Im thinking pH, water, or heat causing the problem... but alas i am no pro yet so please if any one feels like helping a fellow grower out +reps
these plants vegged for two weeks pics taken on 34th day of flowering grown in a 5 gal bucket 1\2 and 1\2 mix of miracle grow and dirt from under a 3 year old leaf pile (only leaves) 400w HPS feeding a solution of Jack's African Violet Food (37-12-17) or something very close to that (lights are off cant go read container) and super thrive. watering only one per week because of container size, watering enough so that fresh water drips out the bottom Dont know what other info i can give. I just want to figure this out. I mostly grow outdoors and have never encountered this problem before even on first indoor grows. this is my third indoor ------ nutes are actually 12-36-14

They dont look too bad to be honest- especially considering you flowered them so early. Ive never heard of anyone doing that before- pretty cool.
As for the leaf problems you mentioned, are you by chance using compost/leaves created from an oak tree? Oak trees tend to be acidic, and can burn your plant. Miracle gro can be harsh too, but from the pics I saw they dont look bad. Subscribed- GOOD LUCK!!

Dude you are a F-ing genius!!!! Thats exactly it... the leaves are from oak trees... so could you tell me some ways to maybe reduce the amount of acid in the soil? I am low on cash so cheap solutions would be best but, ill spend the money if i can afford it...

Baking soda will make it more alkaline. Maybe mix some in with the water?
I've used baking soda for my hydro stuff, but I'm not sure what the best thing for soil is. EDIT: baking soda, not powder. Last edited by RiskyFart; 08-09-2009 at 05:30 PM.. |

Oak tree- that will do it. The best advice I was ever given was to use Fox Farm soil... Ive tried manure/pearlite mixes, miracle gro, etc etc.. NOTHING has worked the way fox farm has.
Also its awesome for saving a plants life- Ive done it more than once. trust me! GL and keep us posted bro
