If you have a plant getting light bleaching on the top is it being harmed?

What if its still growing very strong, with good temps? SMB always encourages placement as close as possible without 'burning'?

you should keep the light as close to the plant as you can unless it starts harming the plant.. light bleaching is one of those things that should tell you to move your light back a little... same as if the top was starting to burn.. you only need to raise it back a few inches.. even if growth isnt being affected, it isnt good for your plant...

I use 4' 8 bulb T5s and I have to keep them 22" above so the leafs don't get bleached.

nope.. they are sunleaves satallite IV floros... 44000 lumens... and they set right on top of the canopy... http://www.wormsway.com/detail.aspx?...ku=SSG104&AC=1 they use tt-105 bulbs....
