| | Bagseed Grow...1st attempt | | Hey everyone, first post though not new to the forum. I have been trying to learn for a few weeks. My setup to start is a closet grow. I have started with 6 germinated seeds (done paper towel method) under 2 65w fluorex floods. I know a lot of people have busted on these lights but check out the pictures for 2 weeks, I think for seedlings they work ok.
I am on a budget of 200 dollars. I have spent about 80 already. Using a styrofoam cooler has worked REALLY well for light reflection and for keeping a good temp for my seedlings. I recently (3 days ago) added 3 more seedlings. That just means a longer veg time for all of them.
Anyway, my plan is a homemade grow box designed from a 32 gallon rubbermaid trash can. I will use a computer power supply to power 3 x 120mm fans each with 72 cbf per minute flow rate. One into the can at plant level, and 2 out through a charcoal filter designed like the tube one (30 bucks homemade from home depot) as seen on this site. I figure there will be lots of resistance from the filter, hence 2 out, 1 in. In the box I will place a fluro on each side angled down, and a 150w hps flood light at the top of the box. There is about 4 square feet of grow space in the box, and the lumen total for me now approaches 25,000. I think this sounds ok. Any thoughts?
I have miracle grow potting soil and am using distilled water, I "flood" the cups (with holes on bottom) and wait 4 days between watering. The water right now is moist about a half inch below surface. I have not nute/fert yet. I plan on buying some this monday at home depot. Any recommendations of ferts i can find there? The transplant from closet to grow box will take place wednesday once it is all finished.
The weed was good weed, not great, but I figure it was genetically good but grown poorly, hopefully this will turn out ok.
Anyway...here are some low quality pics, my camera sucks. Any thoughts on growth at 2 weeks, recommendations, etc. would be greatly appreciated. I'm a smart guy but don't know much botany.
Thanks,
J |

| | Hey
here is a few shots of our progress on our 100% stealth grow box. When this is done, I think i will post a how to. It's kind of similar to the rubbermaid tote box grow box, but MUCH more stealthy.
Tonight and tomorrow we will be finishing and transplanting 7 small plants to vedge under 150wHPS and 2 65W fluorex cf.
More pictures to come of this. Comments welcome. |

| | HELLO, Those plants/ seedlings look pretty good for bag-seed (Those wide leaves look like they maybe indica /sativa cross or just indica? ) and your first time (NOT BAD!!) - I use a stealth grow cabinet. (It works great for a few medium size plants from a strain like LOWRYDER or ORANGE HAZE and AK- CROSSES or any mostly indica strains that are short and have buds the size of my head, & glisten, like it snowing it my house! Good luck with your plants and that stealth set-up. (The fluorex floods worked for me in past grows -but your going too have to get a HPS OR MH , when its time too flower your ladies, your going too need more RED LIGHT SPECTRUM to get the most flower/bud out of the genetics you have.)
GOOD LUCK & PEACE OUT - GREENSUNSHINE |

| | thanks guys,
Yeah we have a 150W hps on the way.
So with 130w of cf putting out 8000 lumens total and a 150w hps putting out 13,000 lumens. Thats 21000.
We should be good right?
More pictures to come tonight of the growbox rather finished. The plan is to be able to water the plants from outside the growbox using 1/4"tubing, a 120mm fan into a carbon filter outtake, a 120 fan intake at plant level, and a nice lexan window to view everything. Most will be one tonight.
Stay tuned.
It's looking great.
Thanks for the replies.

| | Ok. Admins I understand this might be moved to a new forum after these posts.
Do as you must.
Here is the making of my stealth grow box, chronologically. I'll do my best to explain. Again this is a rubbermaid 45 gallon trash can, two 65 w fluorex bulbs and a 150 watt hps.
Custom modded box.
Check it out.
The first few pics here are setup, showing the basic. We have cut out a spot for a window to see the plants, and used lexan as window material. everything is sealed airtight using duct tape. Mucho duct tape.
Also is a computer power supply. This is used to power 2 fans, 120mm each, one input one out.
You can see a few shots of in the box, at this point there are no lights on. The filter is a replacement hepa filter, with carbon odor eliminator, sealed to a 240mmx90 mm to 120mm metal duct. This is the outtake. Only clean air coming out, no odor. |
