SOMEONE TELL ME WHY MY PLANTS VINES ARE SO DAMN LONG. it's wigging me out. i'm pretty sure i'm hullucinating, and they're really not abnormally long - but, do long stems signify something bad or good?.. i mean they're real long, and still only have 4 lil leaves. i'm done now. thanks ;o

probably lighting and strechting for it read some guides, yer it could be the strain or gentics but more likley a piss poor light at a huge distance. Read the guides here and google growing guides. As a first timmer read all you can read until your sick, read peoples grow logs they are full of what works and what doesnt. MJ is a strong weed but to get the most read what you can.

Pics? How old are they? You wanna give them at least 20 hrs of light at first (vegging, getting some size) Lot's of folks do 24 hrs, I have heard that a 20/4 cycle is optimal, so this grow, thats what I'm doing.
When the plant is sexually mature (Pre-flowers, alternating nodes) you'll want to switch to 12/12 for budding.
You'll have to be able to identify males and females. We can tell you where to look and what to look for, but you'll not really understand until you see it for yourself.
Then, you'll have to understand plant nutrition basics. Then you can decide how far into this you wanna go. There are those of us who are studying the micro-biology of the soil/root zone, the list of disciplines is endless.
There are vegging nutes, flower nutes, all kinds of things.
Just learn at your own pace. Don't expect to get a ton of killer dank your first time. Of course, stranger things have happened and I hope you do well.

yeah. i'm just looking for some smoke my first time. the seeds suck, also. but, i've read on here.. that, sometimes.. the seeds don't matter? still can get a pretty good plant outta it. i actually have a tad bit help from my neighbor, because she used to help her parents, and my boyfriend.. because he used to help his friend. so, pretty much everything up to determining the sex is what i'm doing. then, they're gunna help a little. but, honestly. i believe the people on here have 30x the knowledge my friends do. haha.

My first grow (Bagseed, Jan last year) I started 10, and killed 'em all but one. But that one gave me about 3.5 oz of some "Get up and mow the yard naked" weed. It was FAR better than the sack it came from.
I gave some to the girl I buy from and she couldn't believe it!! So, yeah, you can get some killer dope from bagseed. I can't WAIT for this Jack Herrer x Viking to finish (slaver, slaver, drool, drool)

Oh, for stretching you'll need more light. If you think it's not enough (and can afford it), get more! And put a small oscillating fan on them. The breeze will make the stems stronger. Let 'em go the way they are now, and they'll get tired and lay down on you. Seedling plants will need more water than juvenile or adults. They won't be seedlings anymore when they have true leaf sets.

it could be light placement....put the lights as close to the plants without burning...if they are still seedlings then i would get em as close as possible and check on em eryday...cuz they gonna be growing super quick at this stage

UPDATE! so.. as all of you know, wonderful ideas come with getting stoned.

look at my ghetto-lil grow space.. that kinda looks official now. . everyones ideas were greatly appreciated. i took them all, & added my own ideas. i planted my babygirls deeper into the soil..& they look a lot better; and tweaked out my area with 88 cent tinfoil, and a cool car sun visor thing. i think it's neat for such a low budget. i believe i'm doing pretty good for a first timer. getting nutes next week sometime.

wow...i feel like i just read a fuckin book....your plants are long because your light is to far away,you should have it around 2 or 3 inchs away from your plants,,,,you should also put some towels or black tape around the pots you have them in,cause roots grow in the dark right,,yeah i think so..lol...as for nutrients ''maricle grow'' is good for a first time grower and its cheap,i just baught a little bottle for like 3 dolla holla...or you can spend around 7 dollars ,and buy this stuff called ''fish emulsion'' good shit,and cheap....theres also ''maricle grow bloom'' when your ready to bud....you can also buy some ''cfl's'' for cheap,,,i just found some'' energy saving cfl's with 2600 lumens '' at a 99 cent store....as for the nutes i mentioned,i found it all at ''wal mart'' in the garden area......soo good luck, and i hope ive helped you....oh yeah,and to make them them grow really fat buds,you have to rub your boobs on them.....siiiiiiiiikkkkke...lol..lol..just fuckin around..
