Default Questions: C02, soil problems, w\pics

Well I have a bunch of questions... Of course ive been reading the forums and watching videos constantly.. but i would prefer to get some answers directly..

1. C02- using yeast, sugar, water mix... in (5) 2.2 liter bottles. the ratio I used was about 12 cups a water for every 1 1/2 cups sugar, and about 2.5 teaspoons of yeast.. I just really wish there was a way to tell the amount of c02 being produced.. without a ppm meter???? IS THERE??

I also have a 9oz paintball canister but cant figure out what to purchase to release the C02 automatically...( every now and again i just push the top in with a screwdriver (dangerous but it works) ANY IDEAS??????

GOD DAMN I DIDNT MEAN TO MAKE THIS POST SO BIG....
AND A QUICK QUESTION...
2. Soil is really compacted in one of my pots, what would help this issue??? without transplanting since im 37 days into flowering? I was thinkin earthworms, would this work? Is there any down side???...
I have also been using a tiny bit of hydrogen peroxide to help the roots get oxygen which seems to help..... ANY SUGGESTIONS???

THANKS IN ADVANCE

hmmmmm, I assume that this is not an organic grow if your using hydrogen peroxide in your soil. H.P. is bad for your soil if growing organically.

So far as your home made co2, if I were you, I'd put more effort into a really good ventilatin system rather than playing with that mess.

What kind of light are you using?
Peace

ok for the co 2 release you,d need speciffically designed pressure regulator valve - the type found on oxygen/acyteleyne bottle - only to fit your size bottle this opens the spring return that you are pushing down with screw driver - you then need a timmer and electrical solonoid valved these are valves that when an electrical charge is added opens the valve - and this needs rigged to the timer unit - to be honest unless you work in an indusry such as offshore welding or engineering you,ll prob. not have access to this stuff - so spend the money and buy the kits from a hydro shop its easier

well to answer videoman, I started out not knowing shit, im not using organic soil, and I feed with peters 20-20-20 during Veg (biweekly 3/4 rec. dose). During the first week of flowering I used FoxFarm: Peace of Mind Fruit&Flower Ive only feed once about 3/4 the recommended dose. But the hydrogen peroxide im using is just for the one problem plant. Like I said i started out not knowing what the hell I was doing so the soil has drainage and compact issues (plant has some bad drooping, yellowing issues).
I dont have a exhaust fan, do to the fact I rent and cant cut a whole in the wall... but I have 4 fans, two wind machine box fans in the windows, a stand-up oscilating fan (blowing on plants), and a small round fan (at the top of the closet)...
Im probally just crazy but as soon as I added the C02 Yeast mixes, the plants just started looking a hell of alot better....
Anyway heres some pics...

just lookin at your pics it looks the same too i had it down as alsorts of def. mg def. ozone damage , ph levels off , i tryed fixing them problems with the metheds it turned out being bad drainage
i tryed taking it from the pot and loosing the soil but the roots had it tight id like 2 know how 2 fix this myself
i just let it finish budding the leafs were yellow the buds looked ok i dident smoke any tho

if its just a small grow u are doing i think i read on here some were that you dont need co2 for small grows if u have fans and vets but i could of read it wrong

Default CO2 reading.

dude, any hardware store has electronic display co2 alarms. they display ppm, peak over 12 hours, CO (carbon monoxide), and one other setting i can't remember right now. i'm dizzy from walking into my grow shed...
lol.
anyway, just diable the audio alarm by cutting the three wires inside the unit, and it still detects.
i run my propane co2 setup about 20 minutes on the lowest gas setting, and then let it sit 2 hours until a timer runs the venting fan and pulls fresh air into the space.
my problem at the moment is calculating the time i need to burn, and then figure out how long i need the air to sit until needed to be vented.
if anyone knows this info, MATHEMATICALLY and NOT guessing, let me know.
otherwise, i'll just do this:
btu co2 output - Google Search

and post the equation later.
cheers.
rb.
