Question Will a Metal halide work for flowering?

I Know MH's are usally used for veg, but i just reacentily picked up an entire MH system for free off a buddy, (ballest, bulb,socket), I dont have the money to purchace a HPS system so im wondering if i could flower well with a MH, Maybe supplement a oranger spectrum with some cfl's??

your buds will be somewhat airier but they will still flower fine, supplementing cfl's for red spectrum isnt a bad idea either

yes and no. It will flower on a 12/12 cycle but its a lot of wasted light and the yeild will suffer greatly

Some growers actually prefer to flower with MH lamps as the specific Uv spectrum has been known to increase the production of certain (good) cannabinoids.
Side by side tests have shown a 15% larger yield from HPS lamps, but given the fact that they put out more lumens per watt, this statistic is negligable.

I say go for it!
