If i grow SOG do I need to have a mother plant to clone from at all times? Or can I clone the plants in the SOG? I ask because from what I've read, the plants under SOG dont produce many branches.

You don't want to clone or cut a plant during flowering, so yes you will need a mother plant for clones.

im no expert, but...

most people start with seeds, then pick the best mother from the seeds and clone her. leave her on 24h or 18/6hours and she will always stay in a veg state assuming she does not auto flower (like some low rider strains) cloning from clones from clones, the genetic line weakens. it is best to have a mother from seed. maybe even save a male if you get and collect the pollen, that way you can breed with one of your clones. in case your mother dies or she is sick, what not

depending on how many clones you want will determine how many mothers you will need, also, how many different strains? i try to grow strains that grow alike or simalar so i can have an even, uniform canopy. so usually two at a time

outa 50 clones i took from a single mother i got 34 in 12days. (im impatient, and otss... only the strong survive) im going to veg them under the thousie for a week or so before switching them over to flower
