Hi all,

This is my first grow. I started several bag seeds and picked 2 i wanted to keep. I decided i wanted to try LST on these plants because of the good results i'd seen other achieve using the techinique. I'm not expecting to get much out of these plants as i'm considering it all a big learning curve. it seems the more you learn, the more you need to learn with growing and i've only just really started to learn about nutes and ph.

these plants were started in 2 seperate types of soil and have been repotted 3 times. their final pots are 19 gal pots using coco coir soil. i read good things about it online so i decided to go with it to give it a go. hopefully it all goes well.

i still don't have any fans on my plants but they live in a room with plenty of fresh air and the cupboard door is left open.

i am currently setting up a 1Mx1Mx1.8M mylar tent with a 600W HPS so they will be flowered under a good light but i've been having massive heat issues and can't use the tent until that is sorted. i'll post on that setup later but for now pls check out my 1st grow and let me know what you think.

oh, sadly i still don't know if these are girls or not. :S

these plants have been veged for 2 months under this light. next to them you can see my sensi skunk seeds which had just recently popped in this pic.

i ordered from attitude and received them in about 7 days. i highly recommed attitude seed bank.

you get a good view of the LST i've been doing on this plant. it doesn't have the same growth as the other one.

when i tied it down, the top of the plant stopped growing completely and all growth was put into the branshes as you can see. since then, i'm trying to tie them lower than the original top of the plant so it can begin to grow again. you can see it is working below:

it was seriously stunted before lol. this is actually growth for the main tip :)

the other plant is doing great. Really awesome growth from the lower branches.

i love this pic.

you can see where i start the LST. i started them quite early. They had only just established their 3rd set of leaves and i cut up a wire coat hanger and literally bent the plant in half. it eventually took the shape you can see there over time.

well. that's where it was when i took my first set of pics. will update again shortly.

i must say i've had heaps of fun with this 1st grow. can't believe it's taken me this long to try growing. anyway, hope you enjoy the pics.

more pics.

i removed all of the restraints from the plants the other day and repotted into the 19 gallon pots. this will be their last home :) i left them unrestrained for 2 days so the could stretch ....

the coco coir soil feels so good. it's ultra light and sponge. it holds heaps of water but it feels so soft i know the roots are going to swim through it so easily.

i repotted the sensi skunk too. they all had roots showing at the bottom of the rockwool so i potted them also. one of them is a run. i over watered when they were young and when it broke the surface it actually ripped one of its own baby leaves off the poor thing. so it's a runt.

tied down again and repotted into coco coir. so i am using a mix of coco and ordinary soil.

the other plant got a good flush today as it was having awful discoloration of the leaves. turning yellow and going brown on the edges. it's alos in a 19 gal pot with coco coil.

i'm not going to tie this one down for some time. i'm ging to let it stretch up a bit so it can grow longer and rech the edges of the pot.

here they all are together.

LST helps expose the lower parts of the plant to light. so the earlier you start the better. you can just bend your plant in half and tie it down. the lower branches will start to grow up and it allows me to keep my cfl tubes closer to all parts of the plant as the plants are tied down so low.

but i really don't know as this is my first frow too. :) i just liked the results i was seeing. people getting up to 8 ounces a plant. i'm not expecting to get that much as i don't know enough about growing yet. i am going to do a test on the skunk plants. i'll try and let one grow normally and LST the others and see the different results. hopefully the sensi skunk will respond well to LST. cheers for the response. post some picks of your plants if you can?

Im also a HUGE supporter of LST. Not only does it regulate your canopy and stretch of the plant but it just looks cool when you have 8-10 main colas sticking straight out of the soil! From the look of the new growth coming straight off the main stem and the stretching of the side branches your plants are really taking to the method! Your grow is looking great man I cant wait to see the finished product. Im subscribed for sure +rep
