Ok i have a question about the sun systems lamp, right now ive got a cfl grow box thats aboput 2x2x4. Ive got a small desk fan that i turned into an exhaust fan and a passive intake. Would i be able to sustain a good temp if i bought the Sun systems 150w hps lamp kit and had another small fan cooling it and possibly getting a better exhast in the future?? Also how many plant would i be able to stick inside, ive only got about 4-5' of room for them to grow, and the top 2' i would say would probably be to hot so about 3' to grow in.... any advice or comments are greatly appreciated

are you putting the 150w hps in the 2x2x4 area or the 4x5 room?

now the rooms 2x2 and then i have about 4-5' in height, i can adjust a board to give me another foot or soo

ok, then yes i would totally put the 150w hps in there. I'm a fan of sunsystems, they are good products. Temp would be ok fine. I had a 400w HPS lighting the same size are with some serious venting and it was perfect. I grew 1 big mofo plant in that area, but to each his own. check out SOG for an area that size and with that light would be a good deal also

right now the exhaust is a 4" fan its not too powerful but its alright, i have 4x 29w 2200 lumen CFL's in there right now and its about 80-90f inside the room with the lights on, would the 150w generate alot more heat? At one point i did ad an additional 2x 43w 2700 lumen CFL's and the temps go up to 110f, i had to take them out because i didnt want to heat stress the plants

keep you exhaust as high as possible as hot air rises to the top of the box. I would think the temp would be about the same, try it worse case you'll have to get a 6" exhaust fan. If possible have a fan blowing on the plants, cool them and strengthen the stems and branches

Try running 150w of incandescent. I have a smaller cab and I just bought plexiglass to seperate the light from the plants. My light is coming on Tuesday and will post my setup here if you'd like.

Why would that be better then a HPS?

also is the sun systems lamp very loud or does it even make noise at all?
