i noticed algae forming on my hydroton rocks whats the best way organically to get rid of them

if the algae is forming on the rocks then that means you're watering way way too much. or you don't have proper drainage. algae forms on stagnant water. make sure you're running air stones in your reservoir as well. you can get the air pumps and air stones for cheap at any pet store. i run 2 massive air stones in my 30 gallon reservoir 24/7.

I'm not a hydro man, but do you have a fan/ventalation in your area? That would help the algea

the formula for algae is

nutrients + water + light = algae

seeing as the hydroton is the area you feed you can not remove nutrients and water to remove the algae

the only thing you can stop getting to the hydroton is light
