Default Can i wire my hps to a 3-prong outlet?

I have a 70 w hps with a ballast and hood... do i need to connect it to the regular lighting wire or can i hook it up with an extension cord.... thank you very much

im not a electrical expert myself...but the ballast needs to be set to 120v inorder for you to connect it to an extension cord to an outlet

Being that it is only 70w, using an extension cord should be fine as long as it is grounded (has 3 prongs).
