Default Twisting Leafs
Hello,

Recently got some clones... They are growing day-to-day, but some of the leafs are twisting (see pics below). I'm not sure what is causing some of the leafs to twist... Perhaps the heat??

Here's some needed info:

They are indoor plants.
They are about 1-2 weeks old.
In Fox Farm Ocean Forest Potting Mix, in 3 gallon pots.
Under a 400w HPS light, about 20 inches away, hung directly above the plants.
They are on a 18on 6off lighting schedule.
Humidity ranges from 35%-45%
Temperatures range from 85-95 degrees fahrenheit.
I have NOT fed them anything.

PICS HERE, NOTICE THE RED ARROWS POINTING TO THE TWISTING LEAFS:

Sorry the pics are not the best quality, cell phone pics...

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Looks and sounds like heat stress. 85-95 degrees is brutal for an indoor grow. I suggest raising your light about a foot and see what happens. How big is the room you're growing in? You'll definitely want to consider ventilation.

Not sure how big the room is exactly, but they are in the closet.
The doors on the closet stay open all the time though.

Summer has started here so it's 90+ almost everyday outside.
This house is very old so the insulation sucks!
There is a in-the-wall style air conditioner in the next room, but I was trying not to run it too much to save $$

What's the absolute maximum I can have it be in the grow area???
I know 75 is optimal, but what's the MAXIMUM I can pull it off with???
Would watering more and more often help any???

I'll raise the light in the next few hours...

THANKS AGAIN!!!

you need good ventalation and a (FAN) this is a MUST. 200ml of water every 48 hours. if you do these things you should be O.K. and you want to think about some organic nutes for your plants.

Well you can have the absolute maximum around 95 degrees if you supplement with CO2, but that's really expensive and I doubt you'll do it. Honestly, in your situation I would not want the temperature to ever exceed 85. Like you said, 75ish is ideal so you should be aiming for that. And adding ventilation is a lot cheaper than buying a CO2 system. You can get some pretty powerful computer exhaust fans for $20 a piece. You'd be surprised at how much of a difference just one of those would make.

Yeah... I have one fan constantly blowing over the tops of the plants. I also have an oscillating fan blowing air around...

I will definitely look into the exhaust/ventilation fans, I had a feeling I would need one or two or three of these.

The CO2 might be an option, but not at this point

THANKS AGAIN!!
