Graf,

It's very common for growers to stop using nutes close to harvest, so my statements were not misleading at all. Perhaps the reason your plants "blew up" was unrelated to you feeding them heavily with high N value fertilizer. My plants blew up with hairs too right before harvest, and I wasn't giving them any nutes at all.

But do what you want, if you feel it works for you and you've seen the results you want, then why argue? But the point of these forums is to generate several points of view. I offered mine based on my experience and you've offered yours based on your experience. The OP can choose for himself what he wants to do. I just thought I would save him the trouble of wasting nutes and having a smoke that tasted like the garden section at Wal-Mart.

pseudo-

Im not sure if you misunderstood or what......

What Im trying to say is.... If you let a deficiency go to far it could turn into a major issue..

When I was not as experienced with growing I also told people that you could leave it w/o treating it- (nit def.) thats what I read- and thats what I was giving the answer on- what I had READ.

Now, having more hands on experience, I can tell that leaving deficiencies- even in final flowering phases- Is not the best way to grow your weed- fixing it is.

So, next time that you have a deficiency in week 5 go ahead and do nothing- maybe you will be lucky enough to encounter lockout... have you heard of that?? if not, do a search on it.

Im sure you read its okay to leave it untreated... thats fine, I used to give the same advice.... based on what I read.... Now hands on is a little more informative than just reading.... so, if someone tells me that they have a NIT. DEF. Im going to tell them to fix it.... why? because I have had better outcomes fixing the issue- thats why.

1 more thing--- your plants WILL NOT taste like wal-mart plants if you FLUSH THEM.. take care, and watch out for your plants to halt when all of your leaves go yellow and curl in.

Lockout? What's that? Is that where you put a padlock on your growroom door so no one can get in? That sounds like a great idea graf, because I don't want anyone stealing my plants!

Not only do I read that it's ok to not do anything about N deficiency in the final couple of weeks of flowering, but I've actually done it. And (surprise) everything works out fine! Now if you see yellowing leaves anytime before your final weeks, then yes you have a problem and should fix it.

I think you misunderstood my original post because you did not realize that I advised him to not waste his nutes IF he was almost finished with flowering. He never specified how far along his plants were, so I ADDED to your advice; I never negated it. If he's in week one and does nothing, then yeah...he'll be fucked.

About flushing: you flush when you're a week or 2 away from harvest. That was my point. You can't flush if you keep on adding nutes, that defeats the entire purpose of flushing.

Again, you misunderstood (and apparently misread) my entire post. I gave him advice based on the assumption that he was around week 6 of flowering. Since he never indicated how far along his plants were my advice was in addition to, not in lieu of, your advice. So next time please read thoroughly so we can avoid a mess like this, alright?

Here's something I noticed....I just switched my light to 12/12 on Sunday. Now...after 12 hours of darkness....I see yellowing....mainly at what looks like budsites and a few leaves. There is a little yellowing on the bottom leaves...but thats normal as they dont get as much light.

Anyway...when I turn the lights on fr the day...after about 4-5 hours....the color goes back to the normal green.

Im far from an expert....but in my case.....I think the plants need the light for photosynthesis. In darkeness they cant make it happen. When the light goes on....they can do what they need to do. I just started flowering so this may not be what you're seeing.

Hey GraF, question for ya. Im about to enter the 7th week of flowering on Wed. and I think my oldest baby is going to be going for at least 9 weeks based on the resin heads. So would it be ok to add veg. nutes with a ratio of
7-4-10? Every leaf on her is yellow, and I feel like you said its not getting to her true potential. How much should I add next water, and did you say add it with bloom ferts also?

My first grow I started going yellow about 5 weeks into flower. I wish I would have corrected it. I ended up losing almost every one of my larger fan leaves and that could not have helped matters during the last 3-4 weeks of bud development. Of course I made every mistake except watering with bong water.

New grow is going fantastic and I owe it all to about a dozen people on this site. GraF is definitely one of them.
